I have always headcanoned that his mother died when he was young and that his dad was somewhat neglectful, in line with Alastor being partly inspired by Bambi. However, I never considered the abandonment thing. Because you are right, Malvada was shown to be a kind of neglectful parent in Zoophobia, as abandonment was part of Alastor's backstory. It would also play into how Alastor developed his insane levels of hyperindependence and why his main desire was stated to be family. It would be interesting to see how much these things play into the current canon and what adjustments they have made to make it work. Alastor, as a mama's boy, is relatively new compared to the rest of Alastor's lore, so I wonder how that is going to go with the rest of his lore.

May I introduce *Drumroll* My Fanon Alastor’s bio dad, Malvada! Yes, my fanon version of Alastor is a weird combination of his current and past iterations.

I have a lot of headcannon’s/lore bits surrounding this, but I don’t want this post to be too long (and most of my points are in the drawing as well), so I’ll keep it brief.

Malvada is the “Evil” that is currently possessing Eve (thus making her “Roo”), as well as the “Evil” Lucifer released when he gave humanity free will. Neither Alastor, Lucifer, or anyone else at the hotel (at this point) are aware that Malvada is Al’s bio father. Malvada made a deal with Alastor through Roo when Al was still alive, so he is ‘“‘Technically’”’ the owner of Al’s soul.

He has plans for Alastor and the rest of the Hazbin Hotel cast, but he isn’t revealing that yet.
