An iconic bird - the graceful and elegant swan, seemingly gliding effortlessly over the water, calm and serene atop, but paddling like hell underneath! At that time of the year when we tend to look back and reflect on the year gone by while simultaneously dreaming of the future yet to unfold in the new year ahead, these two pictures got me thinking... 2017 has been an ok-ish year for me - given some of the awful ones of recent years - it and I seemed to glide by somewhat unremarkably. I definitely feel I’ve been a bit too passive though, so I’m ready to step up and out again in 2018 (think, swan 2, ready to bring it!)
