This is your second year at your university and you’re totally in love with the team. It’s always a vibe at gamedays and competitions because the girls are like sisters to you. You’ve always done majorette at a young age, but this was different. Not in a dance way, but in a relationship way. Last night, you mentioned you had a game to Michael, when y’all were on the phone, but you didn’t think much of it.

You change into your golden and orange uniform and get prepared for the game. You put some mousse in your hair and do your lashes. You grab your water bottle and granola bar and sit in the stands waiting for the game to start. About 30 minutes pass, and the game starts. The band plays and your team does a 16. Everything looks very synchronized and together, so all that practice really did pay off.

Teyana, the captain, turns around to y’all. “Y’all are doing good. Stay hydrated, halftime in 15.” You sense someone looking at you, you don’t know how but you sense it. Turn your head to your left and you see, “Michael!” You wave at him, he waves back and smiles at you. All the girls turn and look at you.

“Girl, you can say hi to your man after the game,” Faith says teasing.

“I-I just wasn’t expecting him to come.” They turn to see who you were waving at.

“Wait, i-is that Michael Jackson?!”

You go quiet not answering the question and look ahead, but you can’t keep your composure and start smirking while you try to hold in your laugh.

Halftime arrives quicker than expected and the band and majorettes are all on the field. You search the crowd for Micheal and spot him. He makes a heart with his hands and you smile back. The band starts and you start with a slow dance. The beat starts picking up and y’all buck and do kicks, splits, turns, all the above. The song finally finishes and you end in your finishing position. It was tiring but it’s finished and the crowd erupts with applause and screaming. You look at Michael and he’s clapping for you like it was the best performance he’s ever seen.

The team takes a 5 minute break after the halftime show and you just want to go to Michael so bad, but you’ll just need to wait till the end of the game. You get back into the stands and see Michael looking you up and down. He obviously likes what he sees. The way he bites his lower lip when he looks at you is so endearing. The team does many 8s and 16s. You’re kind of worn out but you need to do your best, especially because your boyfriend you haven’t seen in 3 weeks came down and surprised you at your game. Your heart is yearning for Michael but you have to stay locked in until the end of the game. You can’t even look at him because you know you’ll just want to run over to him.
