Yeah I'm living the life bro 🔥
very good week for planes
I hit my two most wanteds from the newest Skybusters wave in one place!!! Seems like they’ve been re-releasing some of the rarest aircraft from the late 2000’s Skybusters golden age! The F-35 first came out with the very rare Tactical Crew vehicle set which also included a helicopter gunship they released a couple years ago. They even have matching color schemes and star insignia so you know they’re part of the same unit!!! And now they’re finally reunited!!!!!!! I’m sobbing!! The Sikorsky S-70 is a new build, it easily matches the impressive quality of this winter’s HH-65. It comes pretty close to dethroning the tailwinds UH-60 as the best die cast Blackhawk. Designating it as a civilian S-70 and not a military UH-60 was a unique touch. Like the HH-65 he’s got open doors and a fully detailed interior. You can even see the seatbelts for the passengers! Only criticism….did he really have to be a cop?? Aren’t there enough police helicopters out there in the die cast ecosystem? Also his tail rotor is a little out of proportion but that’s okay he’s working on it

Corgi ads for its die cast Batmobile from the Batman television series. I imagine it quickly disappeared from shelves once parents groups found out about the firing rockets.
"Five inches of danger" is what an ex used to call me. Dangit, the pool was really, really cold that day!

“Bah! Insipid insect! I will crush you!”
I wish I could go back and find more of these vintage Marvel die cast figs! I found most of the ones I have on sale at KayBee stores as they were closing out but there are many more I didn’t find. Do you have any in your collection? 🤓

It went by like we were standing still!
Tailwinds probably made some of the best die cast jets back in the day, when they did it right they were leaps and bounds beyond Dynaflites, Road Champs and even Skybusters! But when they botched it they botched it bad. The Me-262 is probably the most egregious example. No markings, not even sure what they were going for with the paint scheme and barely any panel lines to speak of!! At least they had the decency to outline the canopy frame and attempt somewhat accurate landing gear. So I just wrapped up a complete repaint of my 262 and he’s ready for action in the hot skies of Europe! Hand painting the squadron markings was a ton of fun!
Stock paint job below for comparison 🤮 I swear they had two different teams doing the modern and WWII era planes. The Flanker, Eagle, Viper and JSF are some of the best die casts I own but the WWII planes always just seemed lazy…except the Hellcat, Black Widow, B-24 and B-17 which easily stack up to the modern birds with respect to detail
