Must be because they don’t have an online store. Like just the other day my friend asked me to look for a Withering Boon (weird black counterspell). Other stores are sold out, and even eBay only has a handful. So I go to this store, ask for it, and they have a whole little box of them. Picked one up for myself too.

I’ve also noticed that Yugioh cards are tricky to come by online. Just... nobody has them? They list them on their stores, but most things are sold out. Weird.

Modern Disasters Puzzle #031

You are currently in the final round of a Modern Masters 2017 draft at your local game store, and your weird, five-colored deck you drafted has been doing amazing all night! You actually made it to the last round without losing a match, and are now playing for first! Unfortunately for you, your win-streak might end here, because you’ve been paired against Mandy.

Mandy is known as the “Queen of Modern” at your LGS, not only because the only format she ever seems to play is modern, but she always places first at every modern or modern masters event your LGS hosts. You have never beaten her once! 

Time has already been called in the round, and this is your last turn before the match is over. If you can beat her this turn, you’ll win the match! But, as luck would have it, Mandy cast Druid’s Deliverance during your upkeep, completely throwing off your original plan to win. 

It is currently your pre-combat mainphase. Can you still find another way to defeat Mandy this turn and dethrone the “Queen of Modern”?

I was kinda hoping Throne of Eldraine would be a bit, I dunno, “happier” of a set? I know, fairy tales are historically pretty grim, and the art we’ve seen so far (which is fantastic looking, by the way) certainly showcases this, but... I’d like a Magic set with a little more hope in it. Why does everything have to be so dark?
