➺ ✷ onde está a biblioteca de Alexandria?
It is a fact that the Library of Alexandria disappeared only to rise again in the shadows. When it became clear that the world was not ready for this full knowledge, the council that would form the Alexandrian Society decided, for the sake of the archives, to protect them with magic and reserve access to them only for those who were worthy Medeians.
But of course, the concepts of worthy can vary between centuries and societies; purity of intention, status, strength, age, magical rarity — what good is all that without mastery? The Society says that its selection is random. Here, you can notice, their firtis lie: those eligible as candidates will always have an advantage in some area, surname, renown.
There may be a being chosen for possessing power in its raw form, but no diamond is sold before it is polished. That is why there are so many societies around the world, smaller than the Alexandrian one, but just as obsessed with them; the Forum, the New York Univerisity of Magical Arts (UAMNY) — and our particular investiment, Jinn&.
Jinns are mythical creatures from the Middle East and South Asia, holders of primal knowledge and probably one of the oldest manifestations of the collective unconscious archetype of the "magical itself."
Talking in the magical post-industrial era, what separates Jinn& from being a philanthropic conspiratorial meeting like the Forum is that its creation comes from a group of former Alexandrians, in addition to the fact that they are not trying to blow up the Library or kill anyone, only to infiltrate their students from the magical elite into the mortal elite in a "politically correct" way. Perhaps that's why it's considered by some laypeople or indifferents individuals to be similar to a boarding school, a preparatory school, or a magical camp for arrogant rich kids. It's neither one nor the other. We are far less noble than that.
Our faculty has chosen to rotate leadership among staff this year, so the freshman class leadership will be directed to: ➀ Twyla Heyó (formerly Alexandrian, see previous affiliations — Alexandrian Society. Initiates of 1990. Co-founder of Jinn& (1873), see previous affiliations — the Collective Unconscious of the Heyó family. There are no temporal limits in it. Class: animist, the immaterial world. Vivid dreams, mind-keys.) AND ➁ Jake Shim (formerly tenured professor — see previous affiliations: Seoul Magical Arts Academy (SMAA). Former Alexandrian — see previous affiliations: non-initiates of 1990. Class: physics, atomic studies, molecular structures, molecular compression).
💭 FRESHMENS :. ₍ 학부JINN& ₎
There's not much to comment on regarding the new group of selected students, since selection implies that they somehow deserved to be there. Which, except for two or three scholarships, was not the case, but only good old nepotism and excessive privileges that a privileged background can provide. Anyway, we are very intrested to see what those students can do during this year.
"I don't want your respect, mr. Shim, I want you to fear me."
