a portrait of a mage
Starting from here, let's make a promise They're not gonna get us Not going back, not going there Just you and me, all else is nothing We rush ahead, our spirits rise Whatever it takes, I will the light the fuse I will set the world on fire for you, baby.
From the Kissing Prompts: #16 or (AND!!!!) #19 for Mageidan? :D
16.when one personâs face is scrunched up, and the other one kisses their lips/nose/forehead
19.kisses meant to distract the other person from whatever they were intently doing
Illidan was sat on the floor  in the chamber that housed the upper portion of the Nightwell. His legs crossed with his hands resting on his lap, it was obvious from the deep breaths he took and the look of concentration on his face that he was in some sort of meditative state.
So focused was he that he did not hear Shanarra open the chamber door , nor the feel the slight breeze that accompanied his guest as she entered. He did not move or open an eye as she approached though as she neared the ear closest to her twitched picking up on her footsteps.
Shan had checked the area around him to make sure it was free of runes or other magical objects it would be dangerous for her to disturb but found the area around him to be clear. So she hazarded that whatever he was doing was likely not very intensive. She knelt next to him and planted a  kiss on his forehead.
Illidanâs focused expression dropped and was replaced by a signature smirk. Amber eyes fluttered open and he blinked a few times adjusting to the light.
âI wasnât expecting you to visit tonight Shan.â He said with a purr âHad I been I wouldnât have been holed up in here.â
âI thought Iâd stop by after class and surprise you, Iâm taking it youâre surprised?â She giggled.
âI am. Itâs not every night my thoughts get interrupted by a beautiful woman, but you wonât hear me complain about that.â He rolled his shoulders and shifted his weight to get up only to be stopped by Shan kissing his forehead again.
âDonât get up, you look comfortable there.â She said lowering herself into his lap.
He wrapped an arm around her waist to keep her stable and blushed as her face was now inches away from his.
She leaned in and closed the space between them his hand tangling into her hair as they kissed. He knew he wouldnât be able to settle down enough to return to his meditation tonight, but he found he really didnât mind.
Matter of Respect (MageAu)
Illidan sighed an unamused look crossing his features as he gazed at the group in front of him.
âFor some of the brightest young minds in the Empire, the vast majority of you are sloppy.  I donât know if you know this but sloppy mages result in sloppy magic and sloppy magic is the best way to blast yourself or your squad mates right to Eluneâs doorstep. So class is dismissed but if you all havenât cleaned up your acts by next week there will be repercussions. Am I understood?âÂ
âYes Lord Stormrage.â They all chorused back bowing to their teacher before scurrying off.Â
Illidan smirked as turned on his heels and began walking back towards the towering silhouette of the Nightspire, the look on his face making it evident to anyone he passed that he was not in the mood to be bothered.Â
As Head Sorcerer of the Moon Guard he had far to many responsibilities to juggle but he did it because he liked his job. Missives needed to be sent out, grades to be done, he needed to eat, he hadnât done that today had he? There hardly enough hours in the day to do everything.  Luckily for him his naturally  stern demeanour was usually enough to get someone else to do something for him if he didnât have the time to.Â
He had just  gotten settled in his quarters at his desk with a nice cup of tea when one of the servants came rushing in, without knocking. Illidan narrowed his amber colour gaze at the young elf and waited expectantly.Â
âMy Lord, a couple of your students seem to be having trouble with an unruly plant in the courtyard.âÂ
Illidan sighed into his hands. Five minutes, all he wanted was five minutes to himself. He then made a noise of acknowledgement and got up from his desk and portaled back down to the courtyard. Â
After interrogating his stuck students he figured out a druid had done this on their way to return books. Illidan sighed again and prayed to Elune his library would still be in one piece as he headed towards it.

"Well Master, you look as though you could do with this." Trilliax offers the Head Sorcerer a silver tray with a decanter of fine Suramar wine and a single crystal glass.
Illidan did look rather worn down, he had been up since moonrise and only now that the sun was half way in the sky was the Sorcerer getting anything that resembled a break.Â
He eyed the tray the construct held with a look like he was weighing the options of taking or rejecting the wine. He then looked down at the work on his desk and shrugged, better to drink here than be dragged home from a bar in the early hours of the next night.
âThank you Trilliax, you always do know what I need donât you.â He said scooting things over on his desk and allowing the construct to set down the tray.Â
âDo check in on me in a few hours to make sure I havenât passed out at my desk again wonât you?âÂ
Pampering (MageAU)
It had been a long day of training the newest batch of mages to be admitted to the Moon Guard and posted at the Nightspire. Illidan adored training young mages but he couldn't deny it was hard work, you had to be talented to get into the Moon Guard but that said nothing for some of these youngsters know-it-all attitudes.
Now however was about putting the stresses of the day behind and tending to himself. He had already changed out of his uniform robes into a more comfortable bathrobe and was walked down the dimly lit corridor to the bath.
âAh Lord Stormrage I was just about to send someone to fetch you, your  bath is ready.â One of the servants said with a bow.  Illidan knew that though, his sense of time was hardly ever off.
He sauntered into the room shedding his robe as he did so, the  blue arcane tattoos that adorned his chest and back shimmering slightly in the light. He reached up and pulled the band out of his hair letting it fall around his shoulders as he lowered himself into the bath. He gave a content sigh as he got comfortable letting his eyes close as he acclimated to the water.
âGlass of wine my Lord?â One of the bath attendants asked walking over with the glass of wine in question sitting on a tray. Â
He nodded and took the glass as another servant stepped behind him and placed her hands on his shoulders slowly kneading them and relieving the tension in them.
âStressful day of work my Lord?â She asked to which he let out an amused chuckle.
âIndeed, young mages so haughty and sure of themselves. They claim to know better than someone who is their senior in age. I remember those days.â  He set the empty wine glass on the  edge of the tub and again let his eyes rest letting his mind wander, only passively aware as the hands on his shoulders shifted down over his chest.
âMmmm, donât be getting too handsy now, I did want to take it easy this afternoon.â Â He smirked as he heard the servant girl squeak out an apology. âItâs alright. You are dismissed, for now.â
Alone again Illidan stepped out of the tub and with a wave of his hand his robe had flown off the floor where he left it and a towel curled around his hair, he could have just dried it with a drying spell but he was feeling particularly lazy at the moment.
Once heâd made his way back to his chambers he sat himself in his favourite chair, propped his feet up on a footstool and waited for the servant he had sent to retrieve a book for him to return. He  purred as he heard the door open and the book was brought to him.
He couldnât deny it was nice to be able to come in from the stresses of being head sorcerer and  relax and be waited on. Â
When it all goes up in flames We'll be the last ones standing
