Photography is one of my real passions and special interests; this is from my journey to Nepal.
I started in Pothana (near Pokhara) and did the Annapurna Circuit. Back then only three villages I passed through had electricity and only a few villages quite close to the starting and end points of the trek had road access.
The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), the Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC) and Chomrong were the stops I liked the most.
On one hand, it was an awesome, awe-heavy, wonderful journey, on the other the most difficult of my life.
Autism/ hyperactive sensory reception and Nepal are a quite... interesting and problematic combination, to put it mildly. I never had so many meltdowns and sensory overloads within a month ever before or after that.
Of course it was physically challenging - 53 kg person carrying a 14 kg backpack (plus water) up all those insanely steep stairs, wearing heavy shoes that were not agreeing with her for six to eight hours a day, go figure.
I went without a guide or porter because I did not like the idea, it felt wrong. Additionally, I needed to do this on my own... and because I am really not good with strangers.
