I just learned how and why MacDonald is lying about the first restaurant is opened in France... Even on their website they claim it was the 1979 one when in fact McDo was present (and successful) in France ever since the 1972... They just unfairly concurrenced and then slandered their own original French branch, forcing to be resold to Quick, because they realized too late they had signed a contract which was WAY too profitable for French people, and thus wanted to start everything again but this time in a way that would have all the credit and money go to the USA.
You can't invent these things.
