6. Do you prefer writing dialogue or narration?
I think I prefer narration - I can keep a fast pace, action, and let the characters deliver one or two lines of speaking without it turning into a long conversation. Which can be fun to write, but sometimes having the characters get to a point become tricky - also, I find dialogue tends to slow the pace.
And my personal issue: when I write dialogue I tend to focus on facials expressions and gestures. So people may know that Thorin was frowning, but nobody knows just where the dialogue happens. I don’t have these issues with narration. :3

So the new house I live faces the west, and whenever the sun sets, the door would always catch the light of the sunset? It’s pretty cool because the glass on the door would make it sometimes look like it’s the eye of sauron and entrance hall towards the front door would look like it’s on fire. So I was talking to m-sock last night about that interview with Richard about Thorin and the fireflies... which got me wondering. If Thorin was born in a cave underground, technically it’s glow worms that Thorin saw, which is another name for a firefy larvae. The larvaes form late Summer and they hibernate over Winter during the larval stage. I know some species of firefly larve can go through two winters before pupating, so let’s say this is the most common species of firefly. So, if Thorin saw the glow worms underground, is it safe to assume that Movie!verse Thorin was born around Fall or Winter time? He’s definitely not a Spring or a Summer dwarfling.

this reminds me of that amusement park/teen au i came up with with m-sock where thorin worked the water gun stall game while bilbo worked the carousel and they made heart eyes at each other while everyone at the park waited for them to get together.
Haha I bet everyone else got so fed up with waiting they made the two ride the ferris wheel and let them finally talk their feelings out. Once their card reached the ground lever, they peered through the cart to see the two just making out, not realizing their ride time is over. They made them go another round in the wheel for the heck of it to give them more make out session time because FINALLY.
