The last of the main trio of OCs for the story in my head.... just a simple concept for now to get a general idea!
Amenotekh is the captain of the Lychguard who was assigned by his phareon as the personal guard and caretaker of the fleshy little vessel which he is not too pleased with, but a duty is a duty...
Comes off as a cold and indifferent sort, but around those he's more comfortable with, he can quickly become a sarcastic bastard and is just a pragmatic sort. He's not brooding. He's dying inside having to put up with his overly energetic co-guard and a tech-priest that wants to put her grubby hands on everything.
More under the cut <3
Amenotekh can be summarized by three defining traits: He's not from the Duatakh Dynasty and is seen as a "traitor" by most due to him abandoning his former dynasty, his deep "family issues" that have given him sooooo much emotional trauma, and his refusal to talk about anything and just focus on his job of which he is a bit grumble about as he doesn't want to babysit a squishy tech-priest.
The position of Lychguard captain is one he requested and was granted by the phaeron. Due to his pedigree, his skill in battle, and ability to strategize and keep command, he should hold the title of overlord realistically. However, Amenotekh has no interest in a role of "nobility" and sees himself as both unworthy of such a thing nor wanting of lofty titles.
Despite being the captain of the lychguard, many in the Duatakh Dynasty do not trust him which has caused him to keep his distance from other necrons in the dynasty, in particular the nobility. The other members of the lychguard trust their captain and the phaeron trusts in Amenotekh's judgement completely.
Doesn't stop Amenotekh from pulling away from others to the point he's become more emotionally dead inside, focused only on his duty, which has made him come off as "brooding" and "cold".
For a necron, he's rather impatient and rather get things done quickly so as not to waste his time making him contrast with Onu who tends to drag out things for fun.
He's more pragmatic than cold. He tends to take things more from the lens of getting something done or avoiding unnecessary risk unless the reward outweighs the lost. Gets teased by his phaeron that he sometimes acts a lot like his older brother which instantly will piss Amenotekh and he goes into pissy younger sibling bastard energy mode.
Onu tells Thea that Amenotekh has "family issues" as the lychguard captain apparently has beef with every member of his family, something Amenotekh doesn't deny, but doesn't elaborate on.
Amenotekh doesn't care to talk about his "family issues" as he feels the issue got settled millennium together and all of them are pretty much dead... there is no reason to work it out. It will fade eventually. Give it maybe ten million more years? Yep.
Onu claims it is "very obvious" that Amenotekh is NOT from the Duatakh Dynasty as he has an "accent' when he speaks, a mannerism he carries himself with, and small cultural quirks that are dead giveaways for which dynasty he used to hold allegiance for.
He abandoned his old dynasty, swayed by the Duatakh phaeron's ideas and visions of the world, something that has marked him as a "treacherous" sort among the Duatakh that he could leave kin so easily...and also burned bridges with his family. Amenotekh claims there is no regret, but the issue is complicated.
Despite claiming he dislikes his older brother, there is also a huge amount of respect to the point Amenotekh puts himself down to always keep his older brother elevated on a platform. His brother was always smarter than him, stronger, more a leader.... there are some deep-seated self hate issues for sure.
Mention his brother's name or his former dynasty and Amenotekh can go from calm captain of the lychguard to a sarcastic, very grumpy younger sibling vibe quickly.
He may have left his dynasty, but the weapons he carries and the jewelry he wears are small trinkets he carries as he still holds pride in his lineage, even if in the same breath, he left it all behind.
As Onu puts it... Amenotekh's family issues are "complicated" as hell.
Amenotekh is quietly happy that the Duatakh Dynasty faked its own destruction to keep out of the picture of necron infighting. It means that his elder sibling can be "at peace" thinking he's dead.... also then he doesn't have to confront the past and keep burying it.
Thea and Onu and their antics, tend to bring out some more emotional responses, sarcastic comments, amused twitch of the head, maybe a snort of a laugh... probably the first real emotions he's felt in a long time.... which makes him a bit protective of them despite always complaining about them.
He's retained knowledge of a lot of practical skills as "old habits" he learned before the bio-transferance. Something that probably is saving Thea from eating whatever Onu brings as "food".
Amenotekh would fight a C'tan with nothing but a stick and 100% pissy bad attitude without question if they tried to tell him how to do his job. He seems to have a dislike for authority figures, save for the Duatakh Phaeron whom he holds in highest respect.
He thinks Thea's rituals to the Omnimissah are weird and constantly makes comments about it, leading to the two of them squabbling while Onu throws in comments to keep the arguments going.
The only thing that puts the fear of higher beings in Amenotekh is being in any situation where he has to encounter anyone of his former dynasty that would recognize, most of all his brother as that means confronting the "family issues" ...and he just wants to pretend those are buried deep.
Thea calls him Ame which he snaps at her about so she started calling him Bastard Guard instead. Absolutely awful!
Even more awful is him trying to teach her how to defend herself, practical skills to take care of herself, and forcing her to learn Necron the old fashion way rather than a translator device! So doubly awful! May the Omnissiah dump oil in his robot cornflakes!
Onu calls him Captain Sir which is at least his title somewhat.
Amenotekh does not like being called "brat" or "whelp"...apparently that was what his brother called him. If he's caught off guard, sometimes retorts without thinking calling whoever said it "old ass bastard", pauses, and then quietly tells whoever spoke to not call him that.

Just finished painting those 5 Lychguard I was working on, a word of advice for beginners that I learned the hard way, Don’t prime models on a dusty floor, the air from the primer pushes dust and crud onto the model and then seals it inside the primer, it’s really annoying to paint on. But other than that these models came out pretty well
In order of them being made, and in turn photos taken and posted, we have the leader, the twins, both charging forward, the stoic one, and the inquisitive one.
