This is my first magnetic project ever.
I have constructed this kit so that it can be a ghost ark or a doomsday ark.
I learned a lot!
It's functional! I'm calling it a success.
Also, I figured out that you can color rare earth magnets with an ordinary sharpie, making the process a lot easier.
Thought of the Day:Â The more one learns of the alien, the more one will come to loath it.
A little bit of Tactics: Necron Warriors
The trusty warriors of the Necron dynasty have been roaming the stars and our battles for many years. In this edition I have come across a few helpful ideas for newer players of Necron.
 Large squad sizes:
Don’t be too nervous about the Morale phase for these guys, they (like nearly all of the Necron) have a leadership value of 10. Which means that they will start losing models from Morale when they have lost 5 or more models in the unit. If you want to get some more help with that, have a cheap Necron Lord within 6 and it will allow re-rolls to failed morale checks.
 Resurrection:
This is the foundation of the Necron, being able to repair yourself. So just quickly the Reanimation Protocols are rolled at the beginning of the Necron turn. Roll a D6 for each model that has been slain (do not include ones that fled from morale) and on a 5+ return a model to that unit. This cannot be done is a unit is wiped out, but I have found the Necron Warriors are persistent and refuse to die when placed in the right places.
A Cryptek will add one to the dice rolls for Reanimation within 3 inches of it.
A Ressurection orb is a single use item, which allows for a second round of reanimation on a single unit within 3 inches.
If embarked onto a Ghost Ark they can still attempt to reanimate, which means you can use a Ghost Ark as a getaway car/ ambulance for the Warriors.
A Ghost Ark can also chose a Warrior unit within 3 inches at the end of the Movement phase and allow them another attempt at reanimating.
 Shooting Phase:
Gauss Flayers: Range 24, S4, AP-1, D1. This weapon looks fairly basic, but that AP value of -1 on a basic infantry squad like Warriors is very useful. To give some reference, a Primaris Intercessor has a Bolt rifle with the same profile as a Necron Warrior, but is also 8pts more expensive per man than the Necron. For a simple unit the Necron Warriors are a reliable source of mid-range guns.
My Will Be Done is an ability known by the Necron Overlord, which allows a single chosen unit to add 1 to their To Hit, Charge and Advance rolls. By giving this to Warriors you will be hitting targets on a 2+. I find that using characters to give buffs to the Warriors early in the game, means that your more elite units may survive longer as an enemy tries to dispatch of the warriors standing on the front lines of your army. Â
Added some extra transports to my necron army

Necrons vs Tau
by Jaime Martinez
Progress from last night - Phantom arms ready to be attached and legs finished, ready for priming (bet this is a 2 can model - I.e. How much Chaos Black I'll go through). Also, Ghost Ark 2 basecoated and dipped, ready to finish today. Will try to get finished shots of the Phantom up once all the bits are primed. Oh, and that base? That's another Dragonforge item - as far as I know, Jeff is the only resin base caster to make 200mm bases...which are perfect for Reavers, Warhounds and Phantoms.
Ghost Ark one of two for a commission. Tried to keep it simple, but bold. Man, there's a lot of little scarabs on there.
