Here are my first couple of sketches for my Junicorn2018 challenge. Including the Unicorn on last weeks update I have indeed managed to draw a Unicorn (or at least a one horned creature) every single day of this month, which I am immensely proud of. It is usually so hard for me to find anything to draw, as I get easily bored or don’t fancy drawing something. But I keep pushing myself with this and as I try and focus on a different aspect every time, it stays exciting.
02/06: I was focusing on negative space
03/06: I wanted to exagerate my usual lines a bit to get a more edgy and intuitive look to my sketch.
04/06: I love skulls and this was more of a tension breaker than anything else.
05/06: I wanted to push myself to use colour. I also wanted to expand on the exageration aspect and force myself to have at least a basic background.
06/06: A concept I just had stuck in my head that day.
07/06: I wanted something more playful than I am used to
08/06: World ocean day. So I chose the ‘Unicorn of the sea’. Not a proper Unicorn in that sense, but I felt it was appropriate :)
Keep watching this space as more will definitely come. As for everyone else: It’s not too late to join yet :) One Unicorn or single horned creature a day in any medium you like. Tag with Junicorn2018 or lycanda, so I can find them :)
