February 1st,2019. . January has been an interesting month (quite the understatement right there π), & it's finally over. Took myself to a lunch date to celebrate surviving the first month of the year & for succesfully renewing my driver's license earlier today to the Real ID version π My passport expires in 3 days so I probably should go get my passport photo taken & go to the post office to apply for a new one. Gonna have to wear makeup to cover up my scar on my forehead for that. Wonder if they're open tomorrow? . . The ramen at #JakesRockinRamen tastes better than I remember it to be, so I'll most likely be back to try their other ramens. Today, I had their Black Garlic Ramen, & compared to YamadaYa's, it's okay. The broth is more salty than rich, & the layer of film from the oil wasn't too appetizing to look at, but the garlic flavor was there & the broth wasn't thin like what it had been before. The noodles were a nice consistency & not soggy, but they did stick together too much for my liking. The takoyaki? Well, it was...interesting. I've definitely had better. Dunno if it was cuz it was lacking the fish flakes or cuz it was too mooshy, but ya, not a fan. So out of 5 stars? I'd give it a 3 & a half.
