A little DTIYS doodle for Story of Seasons’ 30th anniversary! The challenge was to draw 1 character, 1 animal, and one item from the series! I picked Ludus from 3oT, a duck from AWL and the record player.
Challenge is by these folks on insta: @katiekatart samtoywiz101 @yazmania.art @acornion.art @mizziecornart

Ludus - Anatomy is Not Destiny
Linder Sterling
Joy Division Concert Flyer
Ludus was one of the most unique and untamed post-punk bands in Manchester—a core of art-punk, avant-jazz, and fierce theatricality led by Linder Sterling, a visual artist and performer who had previously created the cover for the Buzzcocks' "Orgasm Addict."
The most legendary moment:... Linder at the Haçienda (1982), dressed in a dress made of raw meat — a proto-punk-feminist gesture that anticipated decades of performance art.
Paul Morley described them as "a precious mix… gothic, impressionistic, exuberant."
Morrissey became one of their biggest devotees—and later included Ludus on compilations he curated.
The band made their live debut in 1978 at the Factory Club, opening for The Pop Group—a perfect genealogical gesture for your ritual map of post-punk.
Improvisation, distorted French pop, punk pulses, expressionist theatricality.
Linder Sterling—vocals, stage presence, aesthetic direction.
Arthur Kadmon—early guitar (ex-Manicured Noise). Toby Tomanov — drums (ex-Nosebleeds).
Willie Trotter — bass.
Later, Ian Devine takes over on guitar and becomes Linder's main creative collaborator.
The Seduction (1981) — the most celebrated, a blend of jazz-punk tension and conceptual eroticism.
Danger Came Smiling (1982) — more abrasive, more performative.
Ludus is directly linked to Buzzcocks (via design and the Manchester scene), Magazine (via Howard Devoto, who produced demos), Manicured Noise, The Pop Group,
and, later, to the aesthetic universe of The Smiths (via influence from Morrissey)
