parts used:

hair — light kaori miyazono (spring beginning ver)

face — 703 gudako

haori — 1569 sabito

hakama & shoes — 1274 gentaro yumeno

process:

i ordered the individual nendo pieces i needed from jp mercari over the course of about a month. theyre not always available immediately and its a waste to buy the whole figure

when they arrived i used sandpaper on each piece and then handpainted them with several thin layers of white acrylic paint primer. yuzuki’s outfit uses a lot of bright/light colors so i wanted to make sure they didnt get dulled by a dark base

after the primer dried i used matte acrylic paint to create a base color for each piece (including extra sleeves not pictured here). for his hair and hakama, this base coat was extra dark and i used drybrushing to add some depth (its more visible in person). the haori pattern was too complex for dry brushing so i just painted it carefully in layers without much special technique. the parts around his collar that look a bit globby are due to me accidentally using too thick of layers.

i used epoxy sculpt clay to create the hair tie and primed + painted it once dry. it wouldve been better to directly stick the clay onto the figure while it dried instead of letting it dry on a separate surface. it ended up being very difficult to stick onto the figure and constantly needed reattachment.
