My entry for Story of Seasons’s 30th anniversary fanwork contest!
This one was a BEAST to work on. I based it off of something that happened to me in the game; I was showing my friend Arata, I tried to give him hot milk, but he was running his laps and my poor farmer couldn't keep up! I thought it was hilarious and that it was a perfect story for this contest. :-)

also ford is a former neglected kid who spent most of his childhood living in a hoarder household from the equivalent of rural texas. i cannot imagine his experiences with the medical system growing up were particularly great. If he had any
both extremely frustrating and wildly funny playing rune factory 4 right after trio of towns and finding out what happens when you pass out from exhaustion and can’t afford to pay the emergency medical bill
i think ford is demiromantic or arospec in some way (in Addition to his hangups about romance wrt his shitty home life, and not because of it - it’s implied romantic attraction is literally something he’s never felt before until he starts crushing on holly) but he’s a middle-aged man from the rural u.s. southwest so he doesn’t call it that he’s like I’m literally the only person in the world who’s normal about romance and everyone else is insane. And he’s not even normal about romance.
