Love is Bankrupting Me
Trying to be loved is exhausting, it pushes me to overextend myself. Trying to be a normal person who participates in normal activities is just completely out of reach for some single parents. We become so starved for adult conversation that we overextend ourselves trying to fit in. It's really not worth it. It's not worth the stress it brings. I think I'll just go back to being alone, and reclusive it's so much cheaper.
Indeed. #LoveCosts

Meh...
… pretty much sums up how I feel about last night’s speed dating event.
Thankfully there were no rude/inappropriate/strange/smelly/[insert personal deal-breaker] people in attendance; everyone was normal and polite, with their own pair of arms.
Sadly, though, my level of interest peaked at ‘meh’. Glancing around the room whilst we were all waiting in anticipation for the blow of the whistle, I just knew that I wasn’t attracted to anyone there. This almost ruined it for me as, whilst talking to one person, I was already feeling a bit ‘meh’ about the next - I realise this probably makes me sound incredibly shallow; I’ve just always been one for instant chemistry (or just general interest) and I was looking forward to each 'date’ in the same way that you might look forward to seeing your parents’ elderly neighbour.
The evening cost us £20 each with the promise that we’d meet 18 men. In reality we each saw ten men. I’m now feeling a bit robbed as I’ve realised I’ve lost £8.90 worth of men.
Love costs.
