The iconic purple dress that Liza Minnelliโs Sally Bowles wears as she sings the filmโs title song wasnโt actually designed for the 1972 film by ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐๐ Oscar-nominated costume designer Charlotte Flemming. The dress sold at auction, and a label inside reveals it is a creation by Loris Azzaro. ย More interestingly, however, is that this dress may have appeared the year before in the 1971 film ๐ณ๐๐๐ ๐ด๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ (aka ๐จ ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ณ๐๐๐ ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐), where it was worn by Italian film star Virna Lisi as Nathalie Revent. ย Is it the same exact dress, or were both purchased individually from Loris Azzaro?
