The iconic purple dress that Liza Minnelliβs Sally Bowles wears as she sings the filmβs title song wasnβt actually designed for the 1972 film by πͺππππππ Oscar-nominated costume designer Charlotte Flemming. The dress sold at auction, and a label inside reveals it is a creation by Loris Azzaro. Β More interestingly, however, is that this dress may have appeared the year before in the 1971 film π³πππ π΄π πΊππππππππ (aka π¨ πΊππππππ π³πππ π¨πππππ), where it was worn by Italian film star Virna Lisi as Nathalie Revent. Β Is it the same exact dress, or were both purchased individually from Loris Azzaro? Itβs difficult to know, but as we know here at recycled movie costumes, it is certainly not impossible for them to be the same piece. Β See more at Bit.ly/PostEd269 Β
