Two of the Guardians of Desolate Island have fallen.
Day 1- Lord Voidwalker
Well.
Well, well, well.
The Island has called....contenders.. Yea. Let’s call them that.
New Mortals, gifted with the ability to respawn the second they stepped on to the sand of the starting beach, Mortals who have no idea what the hell they’re getting themselves into.
We couldn’t exactly give them a chance. It isn’t our choice.
We were all sitting around when we heard a shout and suddenly we were all invisible as we approached all the contenders. There’s quite a few of them, they all look capable of surviving the island at least. How they shall survive is a different story but it looks like they can survive. Ring had them follow her to her stage, where Lady (I’ll have to start referring her to this again for a while, until we can trust and think it’s worthwhile for the Mortals to know our names. Neither of us are exactly happy but it must be done thus) and Aisling went visible. I stayed vanished, just to watch. To calculate.
They were rather, rude. Talking over Ring, Aisling and Lady when they tried talking and explaining what the hell happened and why they were on this ruined island. Maybe they were excited, this seemed the case for the louder ones, nerves more evident in the quieter ones as they advised their companions to listen to them. I jumped in, as I could see Aisling and Ring were losing their patience with both the mortals and each other. When they get angry they start to fight rather aggressively and I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy, let alone Lady, to try separate them alone.
I tried to add humor to the situation as I jumped in with a remark about the other three Guardians’s people skills. Even though Lady had concealed her face I could practically sense the eye roll I received. I got a snappy retort from Ring but Aisling stayed silent.
Finally, the approach of a fourth figure on stage seemed to shut the mortals up and we introduced ourselves one at a time. The Mortals began to mutter and a man in a grey hooded cloak and red trimmings remarked quite loudly at the fact at how he couldn’t tell the difference between myself and Lady while we were not talking. I cocked an eyebrow and sent a sidelong glance Lady’s way. She’s a foot smaller then me and her robes hang around her shoulders a lot more loosely then mine due to the difference in muscle mass and shoulder width. How exactly did he not notice this? Simply because we wear the same robe? Dear Ianite give me strength.
Lady got a bit, heh, frazzled let’s say as he mistook her for me and me for her. Whoever was sitting beside him muttered about how they thought it was the other way around. They quickly figured the purple robed figure holding a pulsing purple sword must be Lady.
They were correct.
I pulled her back, laughing silently at how in situations like these I was the one to usually lose my temper. Oh how the times have changed.
The Mortals disbanded, after asking questions of the Gods. They asked very little but judging by the expressions of most they were more then curious and would ask questions later. I strongly advised asking me or Lady. One of the Mortals inquired why and I heard Lady laugh and Ais chuckle lightly.
I answered very simply. While Ring or Aisling will give you the truth, the truth they give you shall be an extremely biased one. Another laughed and asked us how did they know we would not give a biased truth as well and Lady laughed again before answering. Ring and Aisling had gone unusually. I suspect Ring was trying to absorb all the information or was wandering around following a Mortal.
I nearly floored myself as I walked across the plains towards the glowstone forest, deftly keeping the figure of a Mortal in the corner of my eye. When I got up I was greeted by something that hadn’t been seen on the island in a very long time.
The Scales of Justice have returned.
This could only mean well, especially for Lady Ianite.....Right?
