In my head, Loquacious is around Nougat’s age for the canon timeline (and would probably appear in babysitting or tutoring events), so he’d be growing up on vertumna with all plants and xenos being what he knows and he’d be learning about the hopeyes in class and there’d be some moment where it clicks and she goes ‘oh my god, they’re just like me’. And from then on, NUMBER 1 HOPEYE GLAZER!! Any insult against a hopeye is suddenly PERSONAL. And if you’re mean to the xenofauna then she’ll CRY. Someone decides to tell him that hopeyes were also attacking them during glow? INSTANT TEARS. And then he’d either cry so hard he forgets and the same thing happens the next time, or she’ll think about what it would take for HER to attack others and she’s immediately number 1 hopeye glazer again!!

What made loquacious decide to be a hairstylist and not something like a surveyor or an animal handler? A job that would let him be closer to the hopeyes)
Ooo this is a really good question actually!! I think wanting to be a hopeye is something that he’d grow out of as he gets older (shocking, I know). The main reason I think she’d want that in the first place is because as a kid he’s really shy. There’d be a little bit of self projection onto a hop eye, with how they’re nervous little creatures (like him!) but also quite ‘social’ or moreso care about the other hopeyes, what with them stomping their feet to warn other hopeyes about danger.
He’d never lose his love for the little critters, but ultimately transcending the human species into becoming a hopeye isn’t a realistic adult job, and in her teens years she’d want to distance himself from how ‘awkward’ and ‘wierd’* she was as a kid to the point that maybe he’d suppress the whole hopeye thing? So she probably wouldn’t get into surveying in the beginning because of that, (also the lingering anxiety that is still very much there, just masked!), and by the time he’s grown into himself and feeling confident and everything he’s already found his niche as a hairdresser. Its the perfect blend of social skills and practical work to keep her entertained! I think it would also help change ‘self expression’ from something daunting and caging into something fun and freeing.
Maybe when there’s Peace On Vertumna, she’ll get a little hopeye assistant to work with her :3

MEET LOQUACIOUS (He/She) !!
He’s bigender, and his augment is the ability to hold his breath for a long time. So, she talks. A lot. Fittingly, she works as the colony’s hairstylist! Not dissimilar to Sol with the barista job, he knows practically the whole colony’s gossip. She was extremely shy and self-conscious as a kid, then was majorly overcompensating as a teen, but finally managed to settle into himself in his later years and became a Well Adjusted Adult^tm. Would probably be in a polycule.
Also, is there a specific tag for exo ocs? Please let me know so I can tag better/make sure she reaches the right audience.
Finally got to sit down and think about my website with an interactive UI. Almost done with the first mockup web design.
The ones I have on carrd were ok yet I need to streamline it and make one website for both comms and portfolio, with potential blog. Patreon & WordPress are alright for that, but I hate the lack of customization and the contents nestings.
Anyway this year will hopefully go better for my work.
