Former IRS official Lois Lerner will not be charged for her actions in the IRS targeting scandal, the Department of Justice said on Friday, Fox News reported.

The department sent a letter to Congress saying that, "reopening the criminal investigation would not be appropriate based on the available evidence."

Two lawmakers, House Ways and Means Committee chairman Kevin Brady (R., Texas) and Rep. Peter Roskam (R., Ill.) asked the Justice Department to revisit the evidence and look at the case.

I have many acquaintances who get their news from obscure conservative websites. Americanpolitics.com, FederalistPapers.com, etc. Then, they post stories from these websites on social media like Facebook, Twitter, et al. When you want to talk about ‘fake’ news, there is plenty to go around on both sides of the aisle.

For example, I saw this morning where a friend on Facebook shared an ‘article’ from Americanpolitics.com. The headline was “U.S. DISTRICT ATTORNEY TO FILE CHARGES OF TREASON AGAINST OBAMA”, or something like that. Here’s the deal, plain and simple. That’s crap. Unmitigated, unadulterated, mind boggling crap. First off, if this were true, there would be spastic media pandemonium all over the place. I went to CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS....not a peep. As Obama would say, not a smidgen of a story about this. Secondly, even if it were true, does anyone truly think anything would come of it? Once you get to that level, you’re made of the strongest non-stick pot covering that money and power can buy. Hell, you don’t even have to get to that level. Has anyone seen the photos of Lois Lerner being led to prison? Or even going to trial? Didn’t think so. Even if they had video and audio of Obama in bed with Putin, taking it up the Pootin-chute, and giving him the keys to Fort Knox, nothing would be done about it. How is it that Hillary and Bubba are still walking free? For those of you not aware, Bubba’s nickname while president was Mr. Teflon. When, in our society, you have money and power, there comes a Gibraltar of privilege. Privilege over us, privilege over law. It’s that simple.

Yes, we have Congress and the Senate and they bluster and they harrumph and they have committees and they war and they fight and they come out on the news and assure us that they will get to the bottom of it. And they should. Because that is where they all reside. At the bottom of the crap hole that Washington D.C. has turned into. Republicans, Democrats and Independents are all involved in this huge orgy of power and privilege and we, the American citizens, are on the receiving end of the shafts that keep coming from them. So, say what you will about liberals. I do. They have it wrong. All wrong. But conservatives are just as screwed up to think they have it all right. Far from it.
