Omegas aren't allowed to race in F1 unless they're mated and have their Alpha's permission. It's bigoted; it's the rule. It's also one of the main reasons for there having been so few Omegas in F1's history. Oscar knows this. He also knows that he's an Omega, that he's unmated, even if the world thinks he's a Beta or Alpha. It's why this conversation both surprises him and doesn't. But still—coming from Logan it's a bit of a shock.
The American Alpha was the only one to know that he's an Omega, having seen and helped him through a surprise heat—forgetting to take his suppressants on schedule—back in F3. Oscar also knows that even if Logan doesn't say anything out loud, he's a traditionalist. Opens the door for him, drives him around, pays for things, protects him, cares for him—Logan loves him in a way that Oscar's never been loved before. (He tries, tries so hard to hate Logan for it. He wishes he could despise Logan for his common beliefs. He loves the way Logan treats him, as though he's something precious and worth the tentativeness the Alpha gives.) Oscar wants to know Logan's true thoughts, the ache to have that knowledge, to know where he truly stands in his eyes claws at his chest (aching, burning, itching). But he's never asked, too afraid of ruining their friendship and scared of what Logan might actually think—that Omegas belong in the house, not on a racetrack.
At first it was an accident. At first he was unpresented. At first he thought he'd be Beta. And then he became an Omega, never said anything. Why would he? What even was there to say? After he became an Omega people thought he was a Beta, and some thought he was an Alpha. It was a toss up for people but nobody actually cared because in reality it wouldn't have changed anything. He was going to Alpine this year, a reserve driver. One step closer to his dream. Logan wasn't here (to protect him, care for him, love him) but that was ok, he'd be here soon enough.
He had to remind himself that Logan knew and that Logan was just trying to look out for him—not trap him. Of course he knows being a reserve driver for an F1 team means he needs to hide his designation as an Omega like never before. But that doesn't mean he should get mated just in case they find out. He doesn't even want to be mated. And he's not proud to admit it but he snapped at Logan's suggestion of: "Osc, I. I think you should be mated. You know unmated Omegas can't drive in F1 and being a reserve driver is way too close to that. What if someone finds out you're an Omega? All your hard work will be gone. I'm not saying we actually have to court or anything, but if I put my bite on you, Alpine and the FIA can't do anything if they find out you're an Omega. No one can force you out and you'll still be able to race—I would never withhold permission for that."
---
Under the table, his unkempt nails pierce his skin. Focus. He needs to focus. He can't space out now.
Oscar nods, his body unnaturally still and his face blank—or to anyone who knows him better (such as Logan), absent. "Yes. I am an Omega." There's no way he could deny it. Well no, he could but if he's being confronted like this then they'd probably order a blood test to be sure. (Logan warned him, his thoughts hiss. He throws them in the back of his mind, now is not the time.)
"Omegas can not-"
Oscar cuts off the statement before it can be finished. "I will be mated soon," his mind flashes to Logan and his offer, "the only reason I haven't been mated yet," he hates having to talk about himself like this, as though he's a commodity, "is because my Alpha is a sap and would prefer to do so on our anniversary," Logan was worried about him, was worried about this hypothetical that has become his reality and he chucked that worry in his best friend's face. "I didn't file any paperwork yet because I would just have to update it. That course of action would have been a hassle and unnecessary. Additionally, only active F1 drivers must adhere to the designation rules, they don't apply to reserve drivers. Informing you of my designation before the paperwork is filed and everything was set would have been a waste of your time."
The Omega leaves the meeting feeling like he's been struck by lightning. He was completely blinded by the brightness of the light. Alpine found out that he's an Omega. It shocked him. He barely recovered his career. Once he makes it to his hotel room, his body stops operating on autopilot. He stops feeling his legs and becomes paralyzed. He can't even fully remember the meeting. He's sure that were it taken, his pulse wouldn't be found. His thoughts race and he can't make anything straight. Distantly the Australian entertains that he must be burned with a Lichtenberg figure, with the way his mind is there's definitely a fractal pattern somewhere.

"Logan!" Osc cries out as soon as Logan picks up his call, then stumbles into sobs. It takes a while for him to calm down but under Logan's guidance Oscar feels whole again.
"What happened? Why are you crying Osc?" Logan's voice is low, almost a rumble, as he soothes the Australian Omega. He makes sure to keep his voice worried even though he already had an idea.
"We have to get mated! Please Logan! I—I don't want to quit. Alpine, they found out. I don't know how," Osc's voice cracks, to the delight of Logan. His Omega didn't want to mate him but Logan couldn't let his Omega be alone. The world was far too harsh for that, it was his duty as the Alpha to protect Osc. Logan tried to put it plainly, make it logical, have his precious Omega understand the risks of his career with his designation—Osc didn't want to believe it. As was the nature with Omegas, his head was in the clouds, thinking he could handle it on his own. He needed a push. A push to accept his nature, accept himself. His place was with Logan and he was going to be Logan's Omega. If Alpine somehow finding out Osc was Omega ended up being that push, well, it was a successful push—shoving him right into his Alpha's arms.
Logan takes a moment before replying, making his Osc nervous. "I. Are you sure Osc?" Logan's tone is hesitant and skeptical. "When I brought up the idea, so that you'd be able to race no matter what, you were very against it. I understand why of course, but I was just looking out for you in case something like this happened." Osc hisses in a breath. Hook. "But since you said no, I thought you had it handled. So, I went on a few dates looking for the one. I met this really amazing Omega. I really like her, Osc, I think I want to mate her." Logan pretends not to hear the strangled gasp Osc most definitely let out involuntarily. Line. "But. You're my best friend, Osc. I'll gladly sacrifice my chance for a relationship if it means you get to race. I just—feel almost second rate or something, like I'm only here to solve your problems." Sinker. He can see the beginnings of tears in his pretty Osc's eyes.
Logan smirks, not bothering to hide the giddiness in his eyes. Osc can't see him through the phone call so there's no need. He doesn't pay much attention to the Australian's fast words. Stumbling apologies and half choked explanations mixing into desperate pleas. "Oscar," Logan coos knowing the Omega is recoiling and sinking deeper into guilt at the name, one he hasn't called him since they became friends, "it's ok. I'll do it. I'll give you my bite. I'll mate you. Why don't you get started on the paperwork we'll need to file? I'm going to book a flight to you."
Osc's a mess of thanks and it's driving him crazy. But he makes sure to placate the Omega even while his mind has already left the conversation. Too busy thinking of how he'll get his Osc to accept his knot. No way is he letting his Omega race. Omegas belong in the house. And his Omega belongs in Logan's den, cuddled into a nest, not having to worry about the outside world. Ugh, but he did promise to let Osc race; he hates breaking his promises. Maybe just one year. He can wait one year for Osc to have his fun being a reserve with Alpine. Logan nods to himself, affirming the plan. One year, then Osc will stay home where he can relax, be safe, and have his pups. In the mean time, he makes a note to look for a chef and cleaner. His Osc can not keep the house, it's honestly impressive how bad the Australian is at it. No matter, it allows him more opportunity to spoil his Omega.
Logan hums, allowing a palliative growl to rise out of his throat. "Everything will be okay, Osc. I'll mate you, you'll have my bite on your scent gland. I'll take care of you. We'll handle this together. You don't have to be scared of Alpine. Just listen to me and let me be there for you. If I need to be your Alpha so that you can be an Omega, then I'll be your Alpha."
He can hear breathing over the line. It's shaky and short but becoming more steady so Logan doesn't intervene yet. Osc takes a breath in, "Th-Thank you. Thank you, Logan. I- I can never repay you- I just. Thank you, Alpha."
"I'm going to pack a bag and get ready for my flight. Why don't you take a nap in your nest? I'll be there soon enough Om- Osc," once the Omega hums in agreement he hangs up. Pulling up the flight details from when he had booked it weeks ago he puts his phone in charging and goes to make a sandwich.
!!! @insanedeathwish my love!!! You simply must post this and add a chapter 2 because this?? This is glorious 😭🥰🤌
Oscar resisting the constraints of traditional A/B/O dynamics while Logan is frothing at the mouth to mate him, pup him up, and have his gorgeous Omega all lovely and naked in his nest at all times?? Peak rancid vibes, I love it all 💙🧡
Aaaand is that Machiavellian!Logan I see here who may or may not have leaked the news of Oscar's true designation to Alpine?? 👀 I love how easily Logan emotionally manipulates Oscar's every move because truly, he's doing it out of love. And isn't that what matters in the end? 😌🧿
I'm just waiting for the next update where Logan sinks his teeth into Oscar's puffy mating gland (that the Alpha sucks, kisses, and licks for almost an hour to get Oscar "acclimated" before the bite) and our sweet Omega (who's already so over-stimulated and needy) soaks the bedsheets with slick as he clings onto Logan, red-faced and desperate for his Alpha to hold him and scent him and...touch him.
Oscar whimpering Logan's name again and again as his entire body turns pliant and soft. Bliss floods through every nerve and vein as he's claimed, his inner Omega finally having an Alpha to latch onto. All his repressed Omega instincts are singing as he unconsciously grinds down on his Alpha's thigh, unaware that Logan has slipped his hand into the waistband of his shorts, fingers gently stroking his slick, warm nub. Oscar's hips buck up to meet every touch, hole clenching around nothing as his body begs Alpha for a knot.
Logan knows exactly what he's doing as he licks up the blood and gently sucks on Oscar's marked gland. His Omega's instincts are in overdrive, he's at his most vulnerable, body searching for his Alpha because it's natural (it's instinct) for an Omega to want protection.
To know that when he's big and round and pregnant, he'll have his Alpha by his side, ready to provide and care for him the way a devoted mate should.
And Logan is nothing if not devoted.
Everything he's done has been for Oscar's happiness—even if his adorably stubborn Omega didn't see it. Yet.
Even if Oscar wakes up the next morning, body aching and unfulfilled because his sweet, untouched pussy didn't get knotted.
He naturally curls into his Alpha, trying to burrow into that familiar warmth, mouth latching onto a spot on Logan's neck for him to suck. Oscar's ignored and suppressed his own Omega desires for so long that he has no idea that a mating bite is a two way street.
Now that Oscar has been mated, his inner Omega is urging him to mark his Alpha too. To ensure no other Omega sees his tall, handsome, golden mate and decides to flirt with him.
A surge of unconscious jealously floods Oscar as he aggressively snuggles into Logan some more. He remembers his best friend's offhand comment about meeting another Omega and wanting to mate with her...
Not a chance in hell, Oscar snarls, Logan is my best friend and his teeth belong on my neck—and no one else's.
He and Logan will build their future together. Oscar will race and soon, Logan will join him in F1.
Our precious Omega falls back asleep with these thoughts dancing in his head, not realizing for a minute that Logan is already thinking of nursery plans and wedding venues.
Oscar has one year to drive in Formula One—a show of unmatched generosity from his Alpha—before Logan makes his precious Omega see just how much happier he'd be curled up in his nest, surrounded by their scents, belly swollen with their first pup.
Logan—wide awake, one hand cupping his Omega's ass—kisses the top of Oscar's damp forehead, a bit of dried blood still on the corner of his mouth. He has a call with Williams soon but Logan knows McLaren is also on the hunt for another driver, that things with Ricciardo aren't going well at all.
And Logan fully intends to seize the opportunity in front of him.
His Oscie would look gorgeous in orange—
As Logan's WAG.
