A statue (1921) of Lloyd George, who served as British prime minister during World War One, stands on Castle Square before Caernarfon Castle in Caernarfon, Wales, United Kingdom. For over 700 years Caernarfon has been a symbol of British rule in Wales.

Later, de Valera travelled to London for the first official contact with Lloyd George. A Truce was subsequently declared, from noon on July 11th 1921. An Irish delegation led by Eamon de Valera accompanied by Robert Barton, Erskine Childers, Arthur Griffith, Count George Plunkett, Austin Stack, Kathleen O'Connell and Laurence O'Neill went to London. Eamon de Valera and David Lloyd George met four times at 10 Downing Street between 14th and 21st July. While in London de Valera also met Sir James Craig on 15th and 18th July.

History on the shelves. My in-laws' books.📚 I never know what I will find.😜 . Here are two 1st edition hardcovers, complete with dust jackets. One is a biography of a young David Lloyd George (uh, see Wikipedia😁), published in 1939, and gifted in 1944 to my then young teen now father-in-law - says the inscription to him on the blank first page.🇬🇧 The other is obviously about Italy, published in 1953 and similarly gifted in 1956 - again, there's an inscription - to my now mother-in-law a year after she, a sister, and a girlfriend had bicycled around in Italy... evidently doing their Audrey Hepburn impersonations.🇮🇹🚲😂 . Do we still inscribe books as presents?✍️📘🤔 I used to, and I also have a few to me from years ago.📚 Insofar as I know, we can't inscribe Kindles.😉 . #travel #travelbooks #tourism #Sunday #weekend #history #politics #London #Enfield #England #Italy #LloydGeorge #biography #books #family #culture #humor #humour #fun #memory #photos #photography #writers #writersofinstagram #authors #authorsofinstagram #expats #expatlife (at London Borough of Enfield)

Flyer/poster (?)#limericksoviet 's story. @britishlibrary . I've read all of the daily intelligence reports in the @nationalarchivesuk that I could find. There were #soviets declared in London (Dalston) and just about everywhere there was a public meeting critical of #lloydgeorge 's war aims in #1917 . #russianrevolution
