C and I went on a holiday to north Wales last month. It was the area around Caernarfon and Bangor. We went up Yr Wyddfa on the mountain railway, explored the slate mine and beaches around Harlech and walked around Llyn Idwal. The walk around Llyn Idwal was special for the landscape and the plant life. Although not a rare carnivorous plant, it was still great seeing an abundance of Butterwort (Pinguicula vulgaris) near the streams and bogs surrounding the lake, as well as orchids and thyme.
