GPC Lorne winter training camp is back on. I have done this camp each winter since 2009 & this is one of my favourite place to train! Engaging with Brands
This week I am looking at Brand Engagement - how we interact with Brands. I have seen a lot of advertising campaigns recently where we interact with the Brands via social networking, mobile phones, Youtube, apps for games/competitions etc.
Most recently I saw the latest Nutrigrain Commercial and it was a clear example of Brand Engagement. It showed an intro into a short story of a blind guy who can surf. It then came up directing the viewer to visit Nutrigrain.com/unstoppable to see the full story. After watching it, it made me want to see the full story, so I visited the sight and watched the full story clip. After researching a little about Brand Engagement, I believe the purpose of this advertisement was to engage the viewer with Nutri-Grain and the product.The product being cereal which was not mentioned at all in the commercial. We have all seen previous Nutri-Grain commercials and they are usually promoting that if you eat the cereal you will be strong, powerful and unstoppable. In the recent advertising campaign they are using the word UNSTOPPABLE to tell a story to us the viewer while also engaging their famous brand of cereal to us.
Nutri-Grain launched #LiveUnstoppable, a series of inspiring stories about individuals who have overcome barriers to live unstoppable lives. Saying they wanted to inspire teens to not give up on their goals and persevere.
"We believe that anyone can be unstoppable, with motivation and fuel to achieve your goals."

Here I have highlighted the word fuel because in this context they are referring to Nutrigrain. Getting back to Brand Engagement, this advertising campaign encouraged us the viewer to engage with their website, engage with #LiveUnstoppable, engage by uploading videos to Youtube, engaging by liking Nutrigrain on Facebook and engaging with each others by sharing your video with friends and family. These are just 5 simple ways we can engage with Nutrigrain by watching a simple advertising campaign.
