Isn't it interesting how our culture looks at these facts with shock and scorn. "They do WHAT in Denmark???? People who flip burgers are LAZY and they don't DESERVE all that!!! That is shit grunt work ANYONE can do!!! Why should they get paid more than I do to do 'nothing??'"

Because,

a.) Mickey D's makes billions and billions of dollars off those burger flippers. When the people who actually DO THE WORK do not receive enough of a share of the profits of THEIR OWN WORK AND TIME to afford to live, all of society ends up suffering.

b.) Including YOU, because these people's discretionary income is what PAYS YOUR SALARY. When other people don't have any money ... YOU don't have any money, either. We don't have enough multimillionaires and billionaires to come into your shop and support you. It's the people around you who support you on the money they make at their jobs, just like you support other people when you get paid and go shopping with the money you make.

c.) Just as you crap on people who do work you believe to be "less than what *I* do," people who make more money than you do also think YOU are "crap." How does that make you feel? Not good, right? How about we remake society such that our own self-worth does not depend on taking a crap on others because we believe we are superior based on the work we do?

d.) ALL JOBS NEED TO GET DONE FOR SOCIETY TO FUNCTION. Why don't we just HONOR ALL WORK, rather than use work as a means to feel "better" than someone else? Because, seriously ...
