General Appearance: Toothy. Redblooded like Karkles. Tiny, chubby twining horns. Likes frilly skirts and fluffy woollen shirts made by aunties Kanaya and Rose, respectively. Gamz paints Tegmin’s face, and they paint Gamzee’s in return.
Personality: This kid is foul-mouthed but mellow like Gamzee on sopor, every insult endearing, every expletive soft. The only way to know when you have upset them is that you suddenly find yourself soiling yourself in terror.Karkat thinks it’s a FUCKING AWFUL THING TO DO and is doing his best to explain why they shouldn’t do it. Gamzee thinks it’s pretty hilarious, at least until he is the target of the kid’s chucklevoodoos. Karkat prays for the day when the kid lands themself a moirail, because being around two pissed clowns is not on his top ten list.

I think linzdragon was talking about/asking about purple prose. So have this excerpt from this book I have to read for class.

Then there is the kind of bling that is overdone and purple and makes me suspect the writer has read one too many bodice-rippers or Sidney Sheldon books. The writing is extravagant, euphemistic, and clichéd; the brunette heroine has raven or ebony hair, or, better yet, a tumble of silky raven hair framing her heart-shaped face, along with sparking sapphire or emerald eyes. Poor children are waifs, pools are limpid and the heroine leans over them so her pensive or brooding or pitiless gaze is revealed; and walks are halting because she's shaken to the core since she's been in the belly of the beast. The problem with purple prose is that it calls attention to itself instead of performing its job--telling a story--and it tries too hard to manipulate the reader's emotions.
