a while ago, blueskittles art got this ask:
blue interpreted it as making original link & zelda designs, which were very fun! but i had initially read the ask as meaning to redesign an existing link & zelda, just changing their hair & eye colour. i wanted to see that. so i made it!
but which link & zelda did i edit? all of them. (the rest are under the cut, though. otherwise this would be do you love the colour of the link&zelda edits.)

I fucked up his hair, I'll do something else with it but this was more an outfit design. I tried to fit in references to all his games. The roc's feather, golden necklaces from Nayru, Gold bangles from Din, flower from Marin, the skirt of his tunic styled like Nayru's.

I redesigned Link from A Link to the Past. This is what I imagine he'd look like post LA and the Oracle Series (you may notice a few easter eggs in his outfit). I took a lot of creative liberties, but couldn't bring myself to give him pants. He just wouldn't be the same character.

Pink Haired Girl Link: Fantasy
This is Link from that one time they accidentally thought Zelda 1 Link (Hyrule) was a Girl! :D
We nicknamed the Hero of Hyrule "Hyrule" This is TECHNICALLY The same Link, so we call her "Fantasy".

these were a lot of fun to draw! I was pleasantly surprised to see that minish cap won the poll, and immediately i knew i needed to draw grandpa smith.
I had sketches for a minish cap link design, but i never actually finished one so it was satisfying to finally be able to get this drawn out.
A while back I tried my own design for Link and Zelda. I liked the two I did of Princess Zelda but his hero outfit was kinda of cobbled together. I tried to keep it simple but believableΒ for a game and unique to him. I also wanted to have a pre-hero look for him so I decided blacksmith since itβs a profession some of the other Linksβ were in apprenticeships for.
