Hey everyone! Since it's been a year since I made the last one I figured it was about time I update my introductory post. For those who don't know me, I'm Oocoo! I like to make art of whatever has me inspired at the time. All of my art knowledge has been gained through watching Youtube videos and flipping through the Hyrule Historia.

Happy Pride Month everyone!!!

Early last year, I got into writing poetry. Since then, I've been posting it here for ya'll to see. But as this has begun to turn into a regular hobby, it's been crowding my blog more and more. I like to make sure my art is easy to look through (hence why I don't often reblog here).

So, after much deliberation, I've decided to give my writing it's own space! So if you enjoy reading my poetry, check out OocooWrites. I've still got to work on it a bit (my pfp is just my cat rn lol). But I've already reblogged my past work there as well as one new poem, and that's where I'll be posting it going forward.

I knew I shouldn’t trust you When you left Pandora’s box You said you were a helping hand, a blessing from the gods Pandora, nearly driven mad Was quick to let you go But the rest of us, so foolish, were enamored by your glow We ignored the signs The way your eyes would glint with greed Too enraptured to consider you should never have been freed

Silver-tongued, You promised then You’d ease our sorrows, be our friend We could all rest easy Knowing that the work was done You’d write our books and paint our murals, leave no task undone But still we worked in fields As you learned all of our songs We all felt worse than ever while you told us nothing's wrong

You crafted all our pottery Til there was nothing left to make When you gathered up the clay you drained away our only lake You comforted our youth Made yourself their only friend You told them they don’t have to think, when they can just depend Everybody needed you For things we once had known We were too impressed to notice we were thirsty and alone

Soon enough, the rest forgot How it felt to live without your hand Try as I might to spread the word, they do not want to understand I recall the creativity The light, the hope that fire brought But our fire was blown out the day we opened that forbidden box I remember how it felt To mold and shape each piece of clay Yet no one seems to care that you have taken it away

I have had a BLAST working on my last 3 illustrations! They were fun tk make and I'm so glad that so many ppl have been able to enjoy them. That being said, it has been 3 very large projects back to back. I've spent the last 3-4 weeks pretty much glued to my desk with occasional breaks for meals, lol. Plus I've made 8 total illustration already this year which is... crazy

When Theseus left home, He promised he’d stay safe. His mother said goodbye, And then they shared one last embrace. He left to claim his destiny, and did not shy from enemies; All mem’ry of the oath he swore was gone without a trace.

He faced his share of danger, The vilest of thieves; His confidence inflating With each vict’ry he achieves. So when he heard his people’s fate, Theseus didn’t hesitate- He volunteered to take the place of one they'd give to Crete.

As Theseus was leaving, His lesson not let learned, He promised to his father “You’ll know when I’ve returned. On the day our ship comes back, you'll see its sails are white, not black And know that I am living and you needn’t be concerned.”

So he was sent to Crete, And met a princess there. “Aid me, and I’ll marry you” This was the oath he sware. So Ariadne guided him, and led him through his trial grim And thus he slew the Minotaur, and they escaped its lair.

But he forgot his promise, As soon as that first isle. And left poor Ariadne there, With simply “Sorry” and a smile. And so, uncaring and alone, Theseus then sailed home Thinking only of the fame he’d earn in just a while.

But lo, and to his horror- It was not praise he found. Instead, it was his father’s corpse, Upon the stony ground. One thing Theseus forgot- the proper sail he raised not; And so his father thought him dead, and in his grief he drowned.
