My favourite thing about the hype about for Forgotten Island (apart from the fact that it's an animated feature about Filipino culture on the world stage, apart from all the folklore and cultural references, apart from the allegory of losing and/or forgetting your cultural identity as a result of immigration, apart from the fact that the whole movie was made for Filipinos living abroad LIKE ME) is the fact they're using the phrase "Tayo na" as like a tag line, which, depending on the inflection and context, can mean "Stand up", "Let's go", and "It's our turn" all at once and don't you think that's absolutely fucking beautiful
