Hi! Hope I'm not bothering you, long time fan, I've started listening to TAZ after seeing your artwork and it was really great so I binged it and now I'm both very worried about The Boys and have nothing to listen to. Do you have any similar shows that you like that you'd recommend?
Um. I haven’t personally listened to Critical Role but its the other popular DnD game. It has a very big crew and probably not the same loose rules and “Fantasy Costco” type humor which is a big part of the McElroy bros humor. But it seems good? McCree’s voiceactor is the DM lol
Uh. If you wanna stick with the McElroys they have....AAAAA LOOTTTTTTT of Podcasts. I’ve been listening to Rose Buddies with Griffin and Rachel about the Bachelor/Bachelorette/Bachelor in Paradise. Its a really funny podcast about a terrible terrible show.
There’s Monster Factory on Youtube. Not actually a podcast but some VERY hysterical videos.
Justin and his wife do a show called Sawbones about Medical history.
Travis does a podcast like....every other day about every other subject lol
I can’t believe I almost forgot about MBMBaM!! That’s where Adventure Zone got its start. They basically answer advice in sometimes the worst ways possible and answer questions on Yahoo Answers but the worst questions on Yahoo Answers. They’re getting a TV show on SeeSo pretty soon. Very funny. A LOT to go through tho.Â
Flophouse isn’t too bad especially if you like movies. They’re the Hogsbottom Boys who do the filler episodes for Adventure Time. They basically just talk about the worst movies.Â
You might like the Thrilling Adventure Hour! I used to listen to that before TAZ. Its a stage show that they do like an old timey radio program. The most popular of it is Sparks Nevada (played by Marc Evan Johnson who is Captain Holt’s husband on Brooklyn 99) a cowboy on mars story and Beyond Belief that have Paul F Tompkins and Paget Brewster as Frank and Sadie Doyle who encounter the supernatural but are too drunk to actually do anything more than make hilarious jokes and drink. There’s a lot of different stories and storylines kind of like you’d have in an old comic book/radio program and a lot of special guests show up. They record it in LA so there’s some pretty big people who guest star.
The people who made Welcome to Nightvale made another show about I think a lady trucker who also encounters supernatural stuff?? I hadn’t had a chance to listen to it but I heard it was pretty good.
Then again you could also do like what a lot of Adventure Zone fans do and just relisten all over again. I’m o n my third listen through lol
