Dated:Â 5 September, 1979 Location: Gryffindor Common Room; Hogwarts @weewxtchâ
It was late as Remus stood by the entrance to the common room, eyes lifting at the sight of a familiar face. On the outside, visible marks from a full moon just days ago still lingered: bruises, a bandaged wrist and heavy bags under his eyes. And yet, any lingering exhaustion paled when he grinned, an unyielding expression.
âAre you ready?â
âIâm not sure how this works but I brought snacks just in case.â At the words he flashed a box of multicolored beans from his pocket with a serious nod. âBest to be prepared for anything.â
Eden || Remus & Lily || June 25, 1980
Dated:Â June 25th, 1980 Time: 11:45pm Location: The Potter Residence; Godricâs Hollow @thelionheartedxlily
Remus apparated with a crack, the silence that followed as he stood in Godricâs Hollow nearly deafening. Glancing to the both sides of the street to check that he hadnât been followed, the werewolf ducked his head as he crossed the pavement. Everything had happened so quickly. He wasnât sure if it made sense to him, even now. Just hours ago, they had been talking about centaurs and trolls and open communication with magical creatures. The conversation now seemed so distant, so unimportant, when compared to the harsh reality of the night.
He wracked his brain, even now, to think of all of the signs that he must have missed. He should have noticed that something was off about Marlene. He should have done something. It hadnât been a large meeting, and if they couldnât even trust the small number in attendanceâ Remus cut off the thought, his frustration wearing his patience thin.
All around him, the village slept peacefully, and he marveled at the quiet sight for a brief moment. The summer breeze played with the fabric of his shirt, the material sticky with blood that had dried to the burn that covered the length of his right arm, the skin bubbling and broken. He had thought about apparating to his small flat instead. The thought was tempting: to slip into a cold shower and wash off the nightâs blood. Maybe he could try and smoke enough to forget himself for a few hours. However, Sirius was out with James on a mission for the next couple of days. The flat would be empty, and even if he didnât admit it out loud, the thought had caused an uncomfortable tightness to grow in the bottom of the werewolfâs chest.
It wasnât often, however, that Lily took a night for herself. He could practically see the frustration and concern that would flood her eyes at the thought of not being there tonight. No, he knew the witch too well to let her hear about the event over the next meeting, or over coffee the following day. Owls were becoming increasingly difficult to trust, talk of the mail and floo network now being intercepted and monitored. They couldnât take the risk.
The werewolf didnât know what time it was, likely much later than he would have preferred to be knocking on the Potterâs door. And yet his scarred hand lifted and landed resolutely on the wood. He realized belatedly that he was still gripping tightly at his wand by his side, but wasnât able to bring himself to pocket it just yet. Not until he could see her face and hear her speakâ not until he could know that Lily was okay.

Imagine going out for a night on the town with Luke. You were walking through West End on your way to the theater when a car jumped a curb and nearly ran you over. Completely shocked and startled, you lose your balance and slip on the ice. You fall to the ground in pain, certain youâve broken your ankle. Outraged as he is that someone could do this and simply drive away, Luke rushes you to the hospital, holding your hand the entire way.

    I was born anew, owner of my own darknessâ
grief works in strange ways. you saw what it did to James, at least at first. it did the opposite for you. grief kindled a fire under your skin that was always there lurking just beneath the surface. you mourned, of course, but you refused to allow your mourning to break you. instead, you left behind your old life, moved forward with new purpose, invigorated, grief somehow bringing everything into sharper focus than it ever had before. you resolved to change the world, to shape it in your image, and to make them all pay for the pain they had caused you and so many others. even as a child, you aspired to lead, you knew that your place was at the head of the wizarding world, and the death of your son only made you more certain.
some called you cold, harsh, but you told them that the only way to make a real change would be to face the uncomfortable, to become radical and make difficult decisions. and so you did. your rise to the top was not an easy one. every step of the way, you faced resentment, anger, confusion, often times from those who you used to consider your closest companions, but you persevered. if there was one thing you learned, it was that you could survive anything, and this was no different. by the time you took power, you had a loyal army of supporters who understood that this was what you had all been fighting for all along. you shed the shield of the Potter name, using your muggle surname as a statement against everything that Voldemortâs sympathizers stand for, and rid the world of divides. but your job is just beginning. there are still those who would oppose you out there, and you do not plan on letting your son have died in vain. you will destroy each and every one of them if itâs the last thing you do.
   connections
âł James Potter â a long time ago, you were head over heels in love with him. now? itâs hard to say. you spent your time apart, but ultimately something compelled you back together. youâre not sure you like what his search has done to him, but then again, youâre not sure he likes whatâs become of you either. and anyway, itâs difficult to resist the image the two of you strike together now, power in spades.Â
âł Kingsley Shacklebolt â your closest advisor. you trust his expertise just as much as your own, but lately youâre concerned that heâs having doubts about your methods. still, until the moment he shows his cards, youâve started exercising a bit more caution around him, just in case.
âł Ted Tonks â somewhere along the way, they became the person you confide in. first they were meant to be a weapon. little is more powerful than two muggleborns dismantling the society that hated them. but now theyâre more. you appreciate the coldness that Azkaban left them with, and they carry out your justice with deft hands.Â
âI was like, âWhat? Theyâve been... filming for a year.ââ
