I'm perplexed in the sense that I'm not sure how this thing works. I can only tell you that if the Silmarils were Pokemon... you see where I'm getting at
I’m not sure how it works either, I think maybe magic? Like...how does this app that’s not even out in the UK yet know that the weird cow mural down by the playing fields in my tiny nowhere town should be a landmark where you can grab free pokeballs? How does it even know it’s there???
I’m happy with the pokemon themselves being randomly assigned geographical locations, and then it can tell where your phone is by satellite-based magic, that’s all fine, but I just don’t know how it knows my town?
A silmaril based version though...would be interesting because there are only three. I mean there would probably not be one in my neighbour’s garden. I heard that really rare pokemon are likely to be put in special landmarks so like, maybe there are silmarils on the top of Everest, in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef and somewhere in an Icelandic volcano. Then as soon as someone gets them, I guess they’re fair game and everyone else can duel them and try and steal them? Maybe the rest of the game is recruiting soldiers, like, there’s now a confused Hadorian warrior with an axe in my neighbour’s garden, and I have to throw food at him to tempt him into joining my army.
The Haladin spearwoman by the swings in the park got away, damn lag, and the app crashed when we tried to get the dwarf in the middle of the road. But we gotta catch that silmaril dammit, okay THIS, this is the game that would kill me, definitely.
