You were the perfect bride. So joyful to move into conception that you wasted no time with wedding details. For you, Mother, it was about the perfect marriage right from the start. Day 5: Advent/Hanukkah- HOPE is for all the world to see 🕯 Lord, help me set my eyes on the important things. Avoiding the frills and wedding bells, help me prepare my heart for the days after, when I’m no longer a mere bride but a wife, and a mother. Make me like your Mother. That special day we herald was never talked of in the history books. For her, the most important day was the moment of conception with her Beloved. Oh Lord, how you long to consummate your love with your Bride! Mary, you let us peer behind the veil into the most intimate union and you birthed the fruit of that love for all the world to see. Help me love my spouse like that, help me prepare my heart for that incarnate consummation. Grant me grace to be consumed more by the marriage than the wedding. Most people enter marriage out of fear. What a True Treasure the ones who enter in pure love like our Lord’s mother. Christ heralds marriage as a sacrament of Divine Love not because it proves union but because it proves fearlessness in the Divine Will of Our Father. Jesus choses to marry His bride not to appease selfish desires of His Father & Mother, not to please His own ego out of the vain imaginations of fairytales and self-love but rather, to fulfill His duty to the Divine Will of God. Even though His bride may enter in innocence, unaware that her marital bed will lack the luxury of Kings in exchange for a wooden bed and nails, she does so out of a desire to enter into a Divine Mystery that is beyond herself. Likewise, the groom, knowing her innocence still extends his hand to her with eyes wide open that what he is proposing is not a union of flesh out of desire for pleasure and self-gain but a call to mission for the greater good of the community. Jesus chose marriage not for himself but for the sake of others. All day i have been wrestling with this unction. Would you join me in prayer for those who have been abducted, kidnapped, forced into slavery and the sex trade, hurt and scared, alone and in need... Lord we come together to pray for these hearts and lives that are in need of Your rescue both in the spirit but also in the natural. All across this city, state, nation and world! Father, I declare in partnership with You that a standard is now raised for the value of each life and each soul! I declare a conviction and passion in the heart of each of the captors to restore and return each person, and that they themselves would be healed and released from the cycle of abuse and shame they themselves live in. That in the name of Jesus RIGHTEOUSNESS, SALVATION, JUSTIFICTION, WHOLENESS, AND ALL FRUIT AND GIFTS of the SPIRIT with nothing hidden and nothing missing would begin to compel, shape and mold each life, heart and soul! Holy Spirit we come into partnership with the groaning and supplication of heaven to see the children of all ages, gender, tribe and tongue restored to sonship. Lord release your angels to war, to protect, to gather, to minister, to guide, to shield. We ask for strategy, we ask for victory, for the nations and the children as part of our inheritance.
