As I lie here reading *Newt’s book,* I’m contemplating the possibility of our protagonists encountering tropical-dwelling Lethifolds in FB3, since Rio lies within the tropical zone, just north of the Tropic of Capricorn.

so I know we all want lethifolds in fb3. some might have different reasons but newtina shippers have a sole reason for wanting lethifolds. we would get to see newt and tina’s patronuses and see if their patronuses are related in some way to each other. and we are definitely getting lethifolds in fb3. in newts textbook it says that lethifolds live solely in tropical climates. fb3 is (most likely) going to be in rio de janeiro, a very tropical place. so prepare yourselves newtina shippers (and myself because i’m gna be a mess), we’re getting lethifolds.

concept: the tenth plague is really a plague of lethifolds. when newt and tina figure this out, and then newt tests it, they realize the lamb’s blood on one’s doorpost is an effective deterrent against lethifolds.

I am partial to creatures who are well equipped at defending themselves, and are generally ambivalent about humans, but also have a bit of personality. Dragons, cats, etc. I dislike dogs and nifflers, as they are too dependent on their keepers, are troublemakers, and are too affectionate. Conversely, I never cared for lethifolds either, as they just...sit there.Â
Lethifolds are completely mute. You can hear a rustle when they move and don't care to stay hidden, but nothing that can be confused for a growl. Also, "every time we filmed it or flashed it"? I just don't see a Lethifold behaving like this. They disguise themselves pretending to be something like a curtain or a carpet and stay still even if flashed or looked directly at, because they want their prey to think that they are a harmless random object. How weird... Now I want to go in that house 🦅
Intriguing. Perhaps it is one of those muggle “cryptids?” Though for the most part those are simply magical creatures misinterpreted, worming their way into muggle legend. The sea serpents in Loch Ness and Lake Champlain, for example. Simple magical creatures.
This creature seems to distrust or dislike light of any kind. Interesting. I feel as though you would be a excellent candidate for finding out more. Â
