hotaru is a super high-school level pianist. having taken lessons since she could go to school, hotaru has had plenty of time to perfect her abilities and excel far beyond her fellow piano-playing peers. which is no small feat, considering the fact that she's blind.

her bedroom is lined with trophies, medals and ribbons from the various competitions she's entered and won. she wouldn't be the super high-school level pianist if she lost, would she? she's not really a competitive person though. the competitions are more for fun than anything else. 

she's played many pianos, and knows all of the brands like the back of her hand. but her favourite is the old upright piano in the corner of her family's living room. it's the first one she ever played, so it means a lot to her.

hotaru is a reasonably open-minded and friendly person, and doesn't mind the fact that she's blind. but she finds it irritating when people treat her different from other people just because of her disability. she believes that just because she needs a stick to get around doesn't mean that she can't hold her own as a human being, and that others should recognize that.

ok so calliope is the thirty-second and currently youngest child of a very promiscuous demon

calliope's mother is also a demon but is loyal to her mate despite his unfaithful tendencies

however she can barely stand to look at her children for the fact that she didn't want them in the first fucking place

calliope's only ever seen their mom once or twice and the only time they can remember actually interacting one-on-one with her the woman could hardly even touch them

having 31 siblings calliope is usually lost in the crowd of those more talented than them stronger than them or smarter or prettier

so calliope's main goal in life is to stand out and show that 32 is still a fucking number and it still counts and they deserve just as much recognition and respect as any of their other siblings

so how do they decide to get this recognition

they go up top to earth to roam among the humans and intermingle with them

none of their siblings have gone up to date and stayed longer for a week

they intend to stay for a whole year

a whole year of not getting caught and exposed

a whole year of surviving among the mortal rabble
