#2050 - Creiis periculosus
A lerp-forming Psyllid found on Eucalypts. The shape of the structure built by the sap-sucking nymphs aren't as intricate as those made by other psyllids, but is still distinctive enough that there's only one other psyllid it could be - but Creiis corniculatus has never been reported from WA.
The choice of food plant can also hep with ID - C. periculosus has been reported on Eucalyptus diversifolia, E. fasciculosa, E. rudis (the Flooded Gum, as here) , and E. wandoo, whereas C. corniculatus has been reported on Eucalyptus gracilis, E. camaldulensis, and E. racemosa.
Some Creiis species have become pests in Eucalypt plantations on the East coast of Australia, and one of them has now also been found in New Zealand. Bad news for anybody growing Gum Trees there, since in bad years entire Eucalyptus forests can be so massively infested they look like the leaf above.
