This is a modern TDP high school AU. Callum is a transfer student to a new school after losing his mom a while back and moving with his stepfather and little brother. He doesn't really fit in with anyone until he meets a strange and intense girl who has built her own elaborate fantasy world called Xadia and only really feels like herself when she's dressed as an elf from that world. Callum winds up getting pulled into her world and joins in her LARPing as they bond and eventually become a couple. But when a swimming accident while on one of their "adventures" leaves Rayla paralyzed from the shoulders down, their roles shift as Callum helps her adjust and realize she doesn't have to give up her secret world just because she's in a wheelchair, and she learns to open up and let him help.
