interview with the vampire tweet round up 142/xxx
Christine and real Rashid need to make some kind of vampire assistant support group lmao
They need to add Lem, too.
I love his character for this face alone â
I mean, LOL.
Because that's something I've always loved about the different POVs in the books. The way others observed Louis and Lestat and the way it was always clear that no one else could handle them except each other. đ
Collection of things I really liked from TVL in no particular order to fight negativity â¨
Disclaimer #1: this post is to fight my own negativity and youâre allowed to disagree but I am not looking for debate
Disclaimer #2: this is not to say the season doesnât need some criticism (it DOES) but the internet isnât just for getting angry
The music. Some songs might suck a little but damn they are catchy! I like the artistry of producing, releasing and performing live an entire album.
Costume designs. I had really high expectations for The Rockstar Season and it didnât disappoint. Not just for the band but I like Louisâs outfits too, going back to his more varied and colorful style from New Orleans era (the Converse high tops đ¤Ż)
Lestatâs bad trip from episode 1. I just like drugged up delirium scenes in shows I find them funny, they show more about the characterâs inner workings and allow directors to get creative visually.
The band as a character and each individual member. I like their personalities and small backstories and I think the actors killed it. (Oh Larry my sweet child⌠in another world youâre also Lestatâs fledglingâŚ)
Dr Fareed and his new haircut. No elaboration needed.
Nicki became my surprise sweet spot this season. I hope we get more of him next season though I doubt it because Joseph Potter really killed the role. Hallucinicki being Lestatâs Dreamstat was absolutely excellent.
Fareed in a blunt rotation with Hallucinicki.
Their hair. Louisâs hairstyle this season is to die for, same for Armand especially in the finale. Lestat in the crypt with Akasha was also so cutie. (I might just like updos and half updos.) Mariusâs hair is also super interesting to me and I realized that ancient male characters donât necessarily need to have long hair but there should still be an effort in the styling to emulate their era; which was very well executed. I even started liking Gabriellaâs hair (the bob) after a rewatch because I saw the bit in the tourbus where sheâs just chopping it and now I headcanon that the bad wig is the way Lestatâs mind translates his motherâs horrible homemade haircuts. It would be really funny to think that vampiresâ way of petty recollection is to give people bobs (Louis to Lestat in season 1).
Danielâs leather jacket.
Armandâs big ass coat.
Lestatâs makeup. Heâs the beautiful unwell here not the fandom đ.
The tourbus shower just because itâs funny. They had Eric Bogosian butt ass naked for 0 reason in the back of a scene, they deserve my applause. The blood setting (if it isnât an elucubration from Lestat) is also a really funny thing; is it like skincare for vampires? Since blood broadly just makes them feel better, is the blood shower like a skincare?
The contrast of how small Armand looks apologizing to Lestat and Daniel versus the imposing aura of the Gremlin against Larry and Louis.
The contrast of how young Lestat sounds in the flashbacks versus present day. I have a whole post about this.
Nicki chopping his own hand off. While I would still like for them to canonize Armand doing that for continuity and characterization needs, the scene as they played it is just so heartbreaking.
Ghost Claudia. No elaboration needed.
Reginaâs British accent. It was super jarring at first because the brain associates âOh Delainey, in TVC, yeah sheâs Claudia, from New Orleansâ and then you get hit with her British accent and it sort of pulls you from the trance that Louis is also in and reminds you that this is NOT Claudia.
Whatever Salamander has going on.
Devilâs minion wall pinning scene. Thatâs a tradition I like for ships.
Raglan James. As a whole. Heâs so weird, Iâm strangely fond of him. The way he talks and moves really makes you wonder wtf is wrong with this guy. I roll with it.
Whatever he has going on with Rashid.
Lemuel. I am a firm believer that Louis needs more people in his life than just Lestat (though I AM a Loustat shipper). Lemuel was a nice proof of that like they were just cute and funny.
Akashaâs monologue.
Akashaâs fondness of Lestat. Like heâs her personal jester and stress toy.
The format of the long table scene. Everyone looked so good and it was so funny.
