Hi ! So I want to improve my art on background and complex/detailed drawing but I’m struggling with it a lot. I just can’t wait and have the patience to construct a big drawing and it makes me feels like shit, like I don’t deserve to do art. So I wonder if you can tell more about how you dealed with it ? How you stay focus for long hours/days on the same thing, etc. If you have tips for it, I’ll be very thankful!! :)
Hello! I’m sorry you’re struggling and I’m sure every artist at some point in their life struggled with that. I’ve never had the patience for backgrounds either and I still don’t think I do to an extent. However, I found that I really enjoyed painting foliage so I actually started with drawing mostly those for backgrounds and it eventually lead to me painting other aspects of the background to further support these tress and flowers that I paint. Start with something you enjoy and slowly grow from there is my tip!
Of course not all methods work for everyone, but I like to believe in having fun while trying to improve.
