Hardenbergia violacea is a species of flowering plant in the family Fabaceae and is endemic to Australia. It is a prostrate or climbing subshrub with egg-shaped to narrow lance-shaped leaves and racemes of mostly purple flowers.

My understanding is that Fabaceae is the most current taxonomic designation for plants of the pea family, and Leguminosae is the older (but still valid) name. This seems to be a matter of renaming as opposed to a reclassification due to advances in scientific analysis. Anyhow, my posts will be tagged with the new name, so use Fabaceae insead of Leguminosae if you were doing a search.
