Notes: Hi there! This is a holiday drabble collection I did for a challenge on fanfic.net [Ashâs Monthly Competition]. The challenge was to write a short drabble while listening to specific Christmas songs, of which I will also link. This is old writing so be aware of possible growth (hopefully lol) between this collection and how I currently write.
1. Lilyâs Boy Child
Lily smiled at James as he brought her a cuppa, she let go of the muggle sales magazine she had been looking at to take it.
"I'm thinking of having a white crib, what do you think James?"
He sat down next to her with his own cup of tea and peered over at the magazine.
"Whatever you think looks good Lily, just make sure to have some blue and red in there."
He put an arm behind her on the couch as he took in how she studied the items in the catalog, he couldn't believe that she was already glowing after just finishing her first month of pregnancy. She smiled and leaned into him as she picked out what decor she wanted.
After a quiet silence, she suddenly looked up at her husband.
"I want to name him Harry."
Song: Mary's Boy Child, Character(s): James & Lily Potter
2. Severusâs Shameful Night
He stumbled into Spinner's End, and fell to the floor gasping for breath. He couldn't believe he had accomplished what he had. He did it. He killed.
Oh Merlin, the woman's screams wouldn't stop echoing in his head, causing him to sob and cringe. Tears tracked down his cheeks as he hugged himself and another sob escaped him as a horrible thought struck him.
What if it was Lily.
What if she had been the target during the death eater mission? What if she had been the Dark Lord's chew toy?
"No, no, no...never Lily...never Lily." He vowed to himself that it would never be her on the receiving end of a death eater's wand. He would make sure of that, somehow.
He lost himself to his tears of grief and shame, falling asleep in the fetal position on the floor in front of the door to his house.
It was such a breath of fresh air, for them all. She and Ron had help Harry decorate Grimmauld Place for Christmas, they were spending it together this year. Just the three of them. Some people understood, others didn't but it didn't matter. They were celebrating a freedom from having to plot, dodge danger, and wage war against a mad man. She couldn't help but snort some of her hot chocolate as she laughed and spluttered. She was watching Harry and Ron trying to catch the enchanted elf on the shelf and the little pixie like toy was giving them a run for their money. Hermione proceeded to cough, laugh, and sputter.
"Oh shut it Hermione, I don't see you over here helping us." Ron replied to her just before he dove at the elf, missed and went sliding head first into the sooty fireplace. A curse was heard before he emerged coughing and half covered in black soot.
"Ron's right Hermione, if you were helping we'd have caught the damn thing already." Harry said before taking a running charge at the elf, only to slip on a rug and fall back onto the Christmas tree knocking it over and getting tangled in the lights.
Hermione lost it then, to a fit of tear filled giggles.
Song: Happy Xmas (War is Over), Character(s): Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, & Harry Potter
4. Working On The World
"Draco darling, what do you want for Christmas?"
He looked over the top of his tumbler of scotch at his mother, an annoyed scowl on his face.
"Mother, you cannot afford what I want for Christmas."
"Try me Draco, you might be surprised."
He rolled his eyes and tossed back the rest of his liquor.
"I want peace. I want a better world for my future children."
A smile graced Narcissa's face and she came to sit beside of her son.
"That will take longer than a shopping trip, but together we can work towards that goal."
Ginny stared out her frosted window, listening to the sounds of Christmas prepping going on in the Burrow. In the past she would have been downstairs eagerly helping her mother, but not this year. It was the first Christmas after the Second Wizarding War and she was ponderous. Was it safe to move forward? Would there always be a villain in the world? In her life? She hoped not. She just wanted to live a normal, peaceful life with Harry. She supposed that could happen. Putting her finger to the icy glass, she smiled after glancing at the acceptance letter on bed. She would be playing for the Holyhead Harpies after she finished Hogwarts.
Song: My Grown Up Christmas List, Character(s): Narcissa & Draco Malfoy, Ginny Weasley
5. Brave Stars
"They are so pretty tonight, don't you think?"
Neville looked up from his dessert and followed his date's gaze upward to the clear night sky filled with sparkling stars.
"Oh, yes they are bright tonight." He gave her a smile, he had always appreciated Luna's ability to notice the little things.
After finishing their dessert he asked her dance to the slow music in the background, she accepted and they started to sway.
"Um,...Luna...I.."
Her dreamy voice stopped him from completing his sentence.
"Oh yes Neville, I would love to. Perhaps a mountain retreat will do."
Neville blinked owlishly for a bit before piecing together her abstract sentence, yet another he adored about her was the riddle like way she spoke.
"I've never done that, but I would love to with you." He caught her eye, smiled and then leaned down bravely to seal their lips in a chaste first kiss. She gave him butterflies as he felt her smile against his lips.
"It's a date then."
Song: Do You Hear What I Hear?, Character(s): Neville Longbottom & Luna Lovegood.
6. Santa Is Stealing Mummy
Scorpius snuck down the stairs silently after hearing the floo activate. He snuck towards the door and peaked through into the room. His eyes went wide as he saw Santa, and he was about to dart forward and shout out loudly with excitement but the other figure that appeared stopped him. It was his Mum and she leaned up on tip toe, smooching Mr. Santa for what seemed like the longest time. A loud gasp came out of his mouth, startling the two in the room and then he shot off like a rocket up to his parents' room screaming and yelling at the top of his lungs.
"DADDY! DADDY IT'S A 'MERGENCY! SANTA IS STEALING MUMMY! DADDY! DADDY WHERE ARE YOU!? IT'S A 'MERGENCY! SANTA KISSED MUMMY! DADDY!"
Meanwhile downstairs, Astoria and Draco were clutching their sides and wheezing slightly as laughs wracked them, tears sliding down their cheeks. Once they were discovered, Scorpius pouted and sulked until it was time to open his presents. Then all was forgiven.
Song: I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, Character(s): Scorpius, Astoria, & Draco Malfoy.
7. Eggnog Dance Party
"George really? Don't you think it's a little early for eggnog?"
"Nonsense Angelina, it is never too early for eggnog."
He gave her a sexy smile and handed a glass over to her.
"Cheers darling!" After downing a few swigs, he flicked his wand towards the stereo and it started to play up beat music. George started to dance around, doing his own little sway and jig while being careful not to waste a precious drop of eggnog.
Angelina watched him over the top of her own glass, preferring to drink then dance but he suddenly came towards her and grabbed her forward to join him. A giggle erupted from her throat and she got lost in the way his eyes sparkled when they were together.
"Oh George, I don't think I will ever get tired of you."
He wiggled his eyebrows at her suggestively, "That's what they all say darling."
"Of course they do." She rolled her eyes while a smirk toyed at her lips before she draining her glass and started to dance around, letting loose and just being in the moment with boyfriend.
Song: Christmas (Baby Please Come Home), Character(s): George Weasley & Angelina Johnson.
8. Dobbyâs Tree
Harry finished hanging the last ornament and readjusting some tinsel before waving his wand to light the little tree. A grim smile formed on his face as he took in the sight of the tree next to the gravestone nestled in the sand.
"I'll put a charm on it so that it will last, its not near enough to give you what you deserve Dobby..but I suppose it will have to do."
Harry fidgeted with the little Christmas tree some more, he wanted it to be perfect.
"Oh, I had Hermione teach me how to knit this year...I made you a present." After an awkward pause, Harry continued. "I suppose I should open it for you."
He slowly unwrapped and opened the gift he had brought with him, and his smile brightened slightly as he gazed at the little bright colored knit hat.
"I managed to make a hat for you Dobby, it's not the best but it's as good as I can do for now."
Using a sticking charm, he stuck the hat to the top of gravestone.
"Let's see if I can get any better at it between now and next year, yeah? Merry Christmas Dobby."
Harry dusted off some sand from the stone before turning on the spot and apparating away before he choked up with tears for his friend.
Song: One Little Christmas Tree, Character(s): Harry Potter, & Dobby's Grave.
9. Beautiful Christmas Lily
"Well, sing a muggle Christmas song for me. Please Lily?"
A cherry smile met those words, before little Lily replied.
"Sure Severus." Little Lily Evans began to sing 'The First Noel' while sitting in the courtyard of Hogwarts by the fountain. It was this moment that little Severus Snape sat stunned and was sure that he was friends with an angel. Her voice was so pretty and it brought a little blush to his face. He laid his head down on her lap, which prompted her to start threading her fingers through his hair. He was content to listen to her forever, even if she attracted a small crowd of students who listening but kept their distance.
Once she had finished the song, he sat up giving her a brilliant smile before conjuring a bouquet of red poinsettias with a pure white calla lily in the center and handing it to her.
"You have a wonderful voice Lily."
A blush crossed her cheeks as she took the flowers from him before quickly kissing his cheek, "And you have wonderful magic Sev. Oh no, we better get to class before the bell rings."
Lily carefully put the flowers into her school bag before darting off, leaving Severus sitting in the snow with rosy cheeks, wide eyes and shy smile on his face.
Song: The First Noel, Character(s): Severus Snape & Lily Evans.
10. Two Ginger Boomers
"GEORGE AND FRED WEASLEY!"
"Run George, run!" Hissed Fred as he kept pace with his twin, he glanced back at the Burrow and winced as bright flashes appeared from inside.
"Oh yeah Fred, with that mad clock she has she'll find us anywhere!" George replied then cackled as he heard more shouts and a never ending string of booms and crackles.
A groan came from Fred, "Perhaps we should break our hands on that damn clock eh?" he ducked as a stray firecracker whizzed over his head.
"Eh, naw. Hey Fred, do you think we-"
"-should've moved the firecrackers into Dad's garage like Mum asked us-"
"-due to the heat from her cooking the fire place?" George finished, a quick beat passed before Fred grinned wickedly.
"Naw! This is much better!"
Song: Six White Boomers, Character(s): George & Fred Weasley.
Notes: WARNING: Â This chapter contains murder, violence, gore, general lack fucks given for life. Â I have placed a âKeep Readingâ due to this.
As you started to wake from a deep, contented slumber you became aware of the feeling of warmth on your skin. It was a sensation you only vaguely remembered and it took you a bit of thought to bring the memory to the surface. This feeling was sunlight on your skin. Your eyes snap open, widened with fear and using your enhanced speed are hiding in a dark corner of the room without a care that you were still completely nude.
âIf you were going to burn youâd have done so hours ago.â Loki says casually as he turns a page in the book he is reading.
Your fear turns to anger and you hiss at him, baring your fangs fully.
âYou left me in the sunlight to die?!â You gold eyes glitter with emotions though your tone is a cold accusatory one.
âWhile it was a possibility it appears that my blood has a special and alluring effect on you.â Â Loki responds, continuing his nonchalance about the issue.Â
Though still outraged at his apparent lack of concern for your life you brought your hand up to look at it. A frown and furrowed brow took form on your face as you saw what he was talking about. Even in the shadowed corner which you stood your veins that were visible through your skin had a pale blue shimmer to them. After long moments of contemplation you slowly edged into the sunlit area of his chambers, shock overcoming any other emotions you had. Your eyes squinted at the brightness that had long eluded you since you had been turned. Movement caught your attention and you looked over as Loki approached you, his eyes roaming your body as if he were looking at an exquisite piece of artwork. He brought a hand up and traced the visible veins from your neck down to your breast with an intense gaze. Your eyes moved over his form as well, he was a beautiful sight to behold. Tight leather contrasting with polished gold, dark locks aglow with the sunlight behind him and his pale skin had a warmth to it. While you gazed at the beautiful asgardian you soon felt the warmth from the sun start to burn, before you could hide in the shadows of the room a green flash produced blackout curtains covering the windows.
âIt appears that to stay in the sunlight you will need to eat again.â Loki commented with a smirk, his eyes glittering excitedly in the darkness.
You were about to ask to enjoy his flesh again but the moment was broken by heavy knocks on the door. Loki tensed and soon an old man was standing where your new companion had been.
âStay here. I will be back, pet.â The old man now before you said before answering the door and disappearing.
The novelty of the trickster and the entertainment he brought wore off quickly in the solitude you found yourself in. A yawn escaped you after your eyes had taken in the room and so you headed back towards the large bed, crawled deep under the covers and sank back into the bliss of sleep.
You woke many hours later a bit after nightfall and you were quite hungry. Slipping off the giant bed you noticed Loki had not returned yet, but there was a green satin dress with gold embroidery of Skuldâs Net along the edges. After dressing you decided on seeking your own food so you walked out the doors and paused with a grin at the two guards standing watch there.
âPractically gift wrapped.â You spoke with a fanged grin and a flash of golden eyes.
They seemed to be confused as to why a mortal came from the Kingâs chambers and their hesitation would cost them their lives. Though they were taller than you, this was an advantage as you ducked the spear thrust at you by one soldier while stealing the sword of the other and sliding between the spear holders legs. Once behind him you slice the back of his knees, cutting the tendons and causing him to fall to the floor. Hearing footsteps you look up and sigh as you see the other guard running to get help. Taking the spear, you throw it and it lands in the base of his spine. You turn your attention back to the soldier with slashed tendons, you approach him and remove his helmet. You look into his eyes as you force his head to tilt to the side.
âShh, donât scream.â You whisper, having brought a finger to lips before threading a hand in his hair with a smirk and sinking your teeth into his neck.
Once he was drained you propped him up  in a corner in a manner that made him look like he was just resting. As you licked a bit of blood from your lips you couldnât help but sneer in distaste, the man had tasted different than Loki. Where the God of Mischief was delicious while the guard youâd just eaten provided a bitter tang on your tongue. A groan from the guard you had speared pulled you from your thoughts, and you lazily advanced towards him.
âI hope you taste better than he did.â You said before pulling him up and sniffing at his jugular, your nose wrinkles as you note that his blood smells worse than the other man. âWell, letâs just put you over there with your friend.â
You pulled the spear from his back, dragging him over to the doorway before snapping his neck. With a sigh you propped his limp body up by using his spear.
âGood job boys, keep up the good work.â You said before letting out a low chuckle matched with a grin then made your way back into the kingâs chamber to wait for Loki to return.
You were perched on the edge of the balcony that overlooked the city and were taking in the beautiful sight that was Asgard at night. The lights below flickered and danced in a way that had you assuming that they were made of flame, the shadows they made on the golden buildings was entrancing and provided an odd sort of calming effect. Perhaps the distant lapping of the waters at the edge of Asgard matched with the inky black of space that surrounded the place contributed to it. You turned your gaze upward to study the bright stars that dotted the spread of space, while in absolute wonderment at the colors that presented themselves as well. It made you feel so small, so insignificant and almost human again. The emotion you felt was so strong it caused you to tear up though you managed to blink them away before you were jarred by the sudden slam of the door. You jumped and spun around to see Loki angrily striding towards you.
âWhat were you thinking?!â He hissed, grabbing your upper arm and yanking you up to stand before him. You remained silent but gave him a perplexed glare as you thought about what would cause this reaction from him.
âOh. The guards?â You said then shrugged. âI was hungry. They tasted awful.â
âYou will feed from me, and no one else.â Loki spoke with a dark possessive tone, his gaze matching it.
âThen donât keep me waiting.â You answered with a smirk.
Notes: I decided to combine the old Ch. 2 & 3 into a slightly longer Ch. 2. The butterfly referenced in this chapter is Ornithoptera alexandrae. :) Real butterfly, quite big and is also featured in the aesthetic above.
Amalthea woke in the dim light of dawn with a slight headache and confusion as she did not remember making her way to her bed from the banquet hall. The sound of boots that had woken her came closer to her bed and she was jolted suddenly as something heavy dropped onto the foot of her bed. Squinting as she sat up, making note that she still wore the dress she had on the previous day, she made out the features of the man at the end of her bed.
âFandral?â She asked sleepily, rubbing her eyes as she slowly swung her legs to the side of the bed.
âGet dressed while I pack a few more things, quickly now, I need to get you to the bi-frost.â He replied before moving off again and grabbing a few more things.
âNo.â Amalthea said stubbornly as she stood and moved to change her gown. She refused to leave Asgard her current, and only priority was a clean dress to wear.
She moved behind the privacy screen in her room and changed into a burnt orange gown in the same style of the blue one she previously wore.
âYou must go back to Earth, youâve caught Lokiâs attention and nothing good will come of that.â He replied as he cinched the bag he had packed for her, looking up when she stepped from behind the screen and tilting his head in appreciation of how the color of the dress looked on her.
He had only dressed her in shades of blue so far but decided he shouldâve tried more colors on her.
âEarth? Thatâs not where you found me, its been years since I was on Earth.â She paused as she thought about her home planet, âIâm not going back.â
Fandral let out a sigh before gagging her and lifting her over his shoulder, the bag in his hand as he made his way out of the palace towards the horse he had ordered to be ready.
âI brought you here and it is I that will send you away.â He spoke sternly but quietly as he approached the horse.
No! No Iâll fight!
After thinking that phrase the horse suddenly spooked which caused Fandral to drop her to the ground in order to get the beast under control. Amalthea stood quickly and darted towards the stairs that would take her up into the palace, though she had just managed a few stairs and was reaching to remove her gag before Fandral grabbed her again.
âSpooking the horse wonât change that Iâm taking you to Earth Amalthea.â He said as he mounted the steed and held her in front of him. âItâs for your safety my dear.â
Loki! Loki help me please!
Loki sat reading a book but snapped it shut suddenly at the feminine voice that echoed into his mind, his eyes scanned his chambers as he felt the weak wisps of magic around him. He heard her call his name once more with a plea for help and he placed the voice. With a sharp action he placed the book on his nightstand before striding out of his room, his armor appearing across his body as he walked towards her room. Loki paused halfway to her chamber as the sound of hoof beats entered his mind followed by the sight of the bi-frost. His jaw clenched as did his fists as he turned and swept towards the nearest guard, he would have to take a skiff in order to reach the bi-frost ahead of whoever had his pet.
Loki was waiting on the bi-frost with the skiff hovering next to the bridge when Fandral approached on horseback with Amalthea in his arms, bound and gagged due to her unruly behavior. Her eyes were on the golden palace behind them and her sadness was easily decipherable to those who cared to look.
âFandral.â Loki said, his voice cordial and caused Amaltheaâs head to turn immediately to look at him.
Hope rose in her chest at the thought that he was there to save her from Fandral sending her to Earth.
âLoki.â Fandral replied flatly.
Loki stared at Fandral challengingly, his eyes cold and hard. Fandral gazed back daringly as he was not willing to give in easily.
Using Loki as a distraction Amalthea reared her head back, effectively head butting Fandral before sliding off the horse and landing ungracefully on the bi-frost. She let out a yelp of pain from the fall before struggling to stand up due to her bound hands. Loki motioned with a gesture of his hand for one of the two guards he brought with him to grab her, and Amalthea soon found herself sitting in the skiff with her bonds being removed.
âI wouldnât suggest going against me in the future.â Loki stated silkily before turning to board the skiff as well.
âIs that a threat?â Fandral asked, hiding his worry if he had any.
âTake it as you wish.â Loki said with a grin as he stood in the skiff next to Amalthea. âDo not touch her again.â
With that the skiff took off towards the palace.
Once at the palace Loki gently took Amaltheaâs hand and led her to a secluded spot in the royal garden, one she had not seen before. Loki sat on the grass and gently pulled her down next to him. He then set about gently using his magic to heal the developing bruises on her skin. He looked up when she let out a gasp as he healed part of her thigh, only to see wonderment in her eyes as she watches his magic work.
âImpressed by a little healing magic?â Loki asked with a teasing tone.
âWe donât have magic on Earth, and Fandral kept me away from everything.â She replied, reaching a small, delicate hand out to his larger one to touch his magic as it left his finger tips.
A giggle escaped her at the small buzz of energy she felt before she retracted her hand and let him finish working in silence.
âHello there, youâre quite pretty.â
Loki finished and looked up at the sound of her voice, the soft and kind quality startling him as he was quite sure she was not speaking to him like that. Amalthea sat leaning back on one hand, her knees bent slightly exposing the creamy legs he had just finished working on while in a hand she held up sat a large butterfly. One of Asgardâs shiest creatures, rare to see let alone to have resting in oneâs palm. Amalthea smiled as she took in the butterflyâs green and black wings, yellow body and big eyes. She moved her gaze to Loki who was doing a terrible job of hiding his shock.
âYou should kiss the Prince.â She spoke quietly to the butterfly, Loki was about to give a snarky retort about how the bug wouldnât listen to her when he felt the faint, foreign magic again.
This time it was stronger than before, and the butterfly flew towards him. It touched his lips before flitting off to explore more of the garden.
He gazed at her with an expression of puzzlement that bordered on broody.
âWhy did you lie?â He asked.
âWhat?â She asked as she turned to look him, completely oblivious.
âWhy did you lie about magic not existing on midgard?â He asked again, this time anger laced through his tone.
âI didnât. Magic doesnât exist, not true magic. There is slight of hand but no magic.â She answered, genuine confusion showing in her eyes.
Loki studied her with narrowed eyes before he came to a conclusion.
âHow could you be unaware of your own magic?â He asked, frowning deeply when she outright laughed at him.
âI donât have magic, thatâs silly.â Amalthea said between her laughter.
âYou do though. You commanded that butterfly. I felt your magic at work.â Loki stated, his mind whirling with questions and thoughts.
âWhat? No, weird stuff like that just happens sometimes.â She brushed him off.
Loki let it go for now but made plans to speak to Frigga about this midgardian that held sway over magic and he couldnât help but to have the desire to teach her to control what power she had.
Friggaâs light chuckle is met by a frown on Lokiâs lips, he had told her about the magic he suspected his mortal pet had and she laughed at him.
âMy son, it would be you who found a mortal gifted with natural magic.â Frigga said, before turning her head and watching the young woman walk through the garden below with a guard trailing her from a small distance. âYou said she influences animals? Has she demonstrated anything else?â
âShe spoke to me, in my mind when she was desperate and believed she was in peril.â Loki answered as he turned to gaze at his pet, though tension was betrayed upon his features as he felt displeasure and insecurity at the memory of the mortal managing such a feat.
They fell into silence as they watched the mortal, who was allowing the red bees of Asgard to circle her hands and dance up her arm in fascinating, delicate patterns before they flew away to attend to the flowers.
âI believe there is much you can teach her, though my Son, do not be too hard on her as she is mortal and will not understand much of our magic. It is just beyond her and always will be.â Frigga said gently, not minding Loki wanting to take on a pet project but wanting to warn him not to become too invested, lest he get hurt.
âI will try not to have too high of expectations of her.â Loki said with a grin as he rose from his seat. âThank you for the tea Mother.â
As she watched Loki leave to join the mortal below Frigga let her facade fall and worry penetrated her features.
Loki stood in shadows, leaning against a pillar as he watched Amalthea continue to enjoy the flowers in the garden. She wore a dusty pink dress today, identical in design to all the previous ones he had seen her in. It suited her form and he quite liked the slit that gave peaks of her legs, though he would have to look into getting her a few nicer dresses to wear at more formal events. Especially since she would be seen next to him. There was something about her that relaxed him, not quite an innocence but more that she had a peaceful and carefree energy about her. He became unfocused on the events around him as he thought on where to start with teaching her how to use her magic.
âLoki?â Amaltheaâs voice broke him from his thoughts, he blinked a few times before looking down at her, blue-green curious eyes blinked back at him.
He deemed only to give her a hum as way of showing she held his attention now. He allowed himself a moment more of thought before making his decision.
âCome, I wish to teach you something.â He said, gently brushing a stray strand of her hair behind her ear before turning and walking away, expecting her to follow.
With a curious look she obeyed, following him to his chambers and taking a seat at a small table that he gestured to. He soon set a medium sized unlit candle in front of her with a smirk playing at his lips.
âLight it.â Were his instructions and Amalthea frowned.
âHow?â
âYour magic darling.â He replied and soon silenced her protests with a gentle finger against her lips. âShh, you have magic. All you need to do is desire that the candle be lit and it will be so. Not another word until it is lit.â
Biting her lip she watched him saunter to a day bed of sorts and lay on it, with a deep sigh she turned back to the candle in front of her.
Hours pass as Amalthea tries everything she can think of and becoming increasingly frustrated that the candle remained unlit. Another huff left her lips before waved her hand lazily at the candle.
Just. Light!
A shriek left her lips as she stood quickly, knocking over the chair she had been sat in, she moved back away from the table that was now completely on fire.
The racket woke Loki from the light slumber he had slipped into. With a quick assessment and wave of his hand the fire disappeared.
âI said light the candle not set the table on fire.â He spoke harsher than he meant to, upon noticing her flinch he sighed and motioned for her to come to him.
âI didnât mean to! Iâm sorry Loki.â She replied as she crossed the room and hugged him suddenly.
The hug caught him off guard, his posture stiffening before he relaxed and wrapped his arms around her.
âIâm aware, we will try again tomorrow. Go to your room and rest, I will see you at dinner.â Loki appeased her, gently kissing her forehead before she left with a guard.
He pinched the bridge of his nose before leaving towards the training grounds, teaching her magic he realized, was going to be a much more difficult task than he had expected. Nonetheless, he was determined and had a different lesson in mind for the next day.
Notes: I made an aesthetic for this story and Iâm super excited about it. Both insects feature in the already written [soon to all be posted] chapters. Amalthea is âplayedâ /visually represented by Gemma Ward.
Loki wasnât sure exactly where Fandral had acquired her, nor how permission was given to keep her as a pet of sorts on Asgard. Sheâd done something to impress the warriors three but the details had not been shared outside of Thor and Odin. Thor was not fond of her, he frequently complained to Loki about Fandral keeping her. Hogun was silent in regards to the woman while Volstagg praised her, though it was in very vague ways that were unusual. No one outside of a few maids, a couple guards, Odin, and Thor had actually seen the woman since her arrival. Fandral had kept her locked in one of the many bed chambers of the palace, and he had yet to bring her to a feast day. Months past, the rumors died due to none having set eyes on the female midgardian, and Loki had moved past his curiosity. He honestly had assumed sheâd somehow perished since humans were not has hardy as Asgardians.
Loki walked through the royal garden and couldnât help but roll his eyes as the sound of loud female laughter reached his ears. Thor must have brought yet another maiden to the garden again, he was about to leave to find a different quiet place to read when he saw her. She burst forth from behind tall shrubbery and ran along the small path that ran through the garden in his direction. The tall flowers swayed as she ran past, a bright smile on her face, her long hair flying from side to side with the sun lighting it up. Was is blonde, red, light brunette? He decided all of the above. Her pale white skin contrasted beautifully with the blue Grecian dress she wore, the sun giving her a slight glow and the slit on the dress gave him a delicious peak of her creamy thighs. His thought process caught up the sound of another laugh from her as she neared him, unaware of his presence as she looked behind her. She was going to run straight into him, he braced and caught her as gently as he could. It then came to his attention just how small she was, the top of her head only came to base of his neck and he knew of no full grown Asgardian who was that short. She let out a shocked gasp after her laughter was cut short and her wide blue-green eyes just stared up at him with a mix of wonder and lust.
âAmalthea!â Fandral called with concern as he walked behind the same shrubbery that she had come from. âAh, there you are darling.â He eyed Loki with concern.
âFandral, I didnât know you had started to pick up strays.â Loki said with a smirk as he let go of the woman, one that promptly left his face at the sharp sting of her slap. She yelped in pain and held her hand with a grimace. He turned his head back to gaze at her with a raised eyebrow. Daring little thing wasnât she.
âAmalthea! This is Loki, Prince of Asgard-â Fandral started before Loki held up a hand.
âI see why you keep her kenneled in her room, a dog behaves better.â Loki commented. âPerhaps with some training she might be able to quietly sit at a feast.â
Fandral gave a hum as he considered Lokiâs words. Amalthea stared at the prince with a simmering glare as she thought.
Someone should shit on you rude Prince.
A flock of small sparrow-like birds that had been flitting around suddenly grouped together while in flight before flying low over Lokiâs head and fulfilling her wish. Loki thought for a split second that he felt foreign magic but it passed as quick as it came, then his head was gifted with bird shit. Amaltheaâs glare morphed into a look of gleeful laughter at what had befallen Loki, and Fandral couldnât help but to laugh as well before steering his human to continue down the path towards the palace. Glowering, Loki stood there for a moment before appearing in his room to bathe. Fandral had taken her to have her hand healed and now they sat together on a lounge on the balcony of her room.
âFandral.â She spoke quietly.
âYes darling?â He asked as he continued to brush her hair.
âWhy does everyone here treat me badly?â She fiddled with her hands nervously.
âYou are Midgardian my sweet.â He answered her as if that explained everything.
âSo?â
âSoâ Fandral began with a sigh, âYou are mortal. You are weaker us, we are superior in every way to your species.â
âAnd that gives you all a right to treat me like a dog!?â Amalthea stood and spun to face him angrily.
When Fandral just opened his mouth like a fish, knowing better than to say the âyesâ that was on his tongue. She stormed from her room and blindly turned a corner in the palace running face first into a broad chest before falling on her ass. When she looked up from the floor she was met with the unamused faces of both Thor and Loki, though her eyes were locked onto Thor with immense fear in them. While the woman lay frozen in fear Loki looked between her and his brother, unable to identify why her fearing Thor bothered him. Thor soon stepped over the girl and carried on towards the banquet hall, leaving Loki behind with her.
âCome.â Loki ordered her before side stepping her and starting to walk the direction Thor went.
âBut Fandralââ She started to say as she quickly got to her feet and smoothed her dress.
âHas lost interest in you seeing as he is not here.â Loki called over his shoulder and lifted a hand to gesture to her to come quickly.
Amalthea paused for a moment more before catching up to him and walking next to him, tensing when they entered the banquet hall as she noticed the many people sitting in it. Loki chose a spot in a corner that had the entire hall in view. He ignored her while he ate and she picked at her own food while trying to fight her nervousness at being amongst such a boisterous crowd.
She let out a gasp when Loki suddenly pulls her onto his lap, coaxing her to lay against his chest before offering her a grape that she accepted before shivering as his fingers brushed against her lips. Amalthea was confused at his sudden desire to have her there until she saw the glare Fandral was giving Loki and she frowned, displeased to be used in such a game between the males.
âLoki?â She quietly questioned him, unsure of what she should do.
âBehave. Play along, itâs just a bit of fun.â Loki soothed her in a sweet, playful tone.
Before she had time to truly decide how to react Loki had one of his large hands gently wrapped around her throat intimately as he upturned her head and leaned over with a piece of fruit between his teeth. He brought his lips to hers, making use of her shock that caused her to easily open her mouth and his tongue gently pushed the fruit in while he stared directly at Fandral in a possessive manner. She licked the small amount of juice from her lips with a swipe of her tongue and let out a small hum of appreciation at the very sweet fruit. The loud noise of a goblet being slammed onto a table caused her to jump before molding herself closer to Lokiâs broad chest. She looked up to see Fandral storming out of the hall with a few females following him.
âEasy pet, he is upset that I have taken you from him.â Loki murmured into her ear and she found she did not mind the change. âYou are mine now.â

Notes: Iâve been working on this for awhile, in pieces, and finally a chapter is ready. It gets a âread moreâ for length and Iâm planning to keep chapters for this long-ish.
The ACDC ringtone broke awkwardly through the silence of the admissions office followed by the pause of typing on a keyboard and an apologetic smile was given.
âExcuse me for a moment.â A sweet feminine voice spoke, before answering the mobile phone in her hands.
âTony, hi.â
âHey kid weâve got a situation, Manhattan, alien invasion. Could definitely use your help.â
âRight, see you in twenty.â Her smile had fallen at the manâs words, her fingers snapping and motioning for someone else to take over processing the new student that sat bewildered in front of her.
âMake it ten Elsa.â, Was his retort before the line before the call ended.
With a sigh she quickly sent a text before sprinting to the hanger where the Blackbird was parked.
As the jet approached the scene, distinguishable by the giant blue beam of light connecting the sky to the ground. Two figures stared in slight disbelief before one turned to the shorter of the two.
âAre you sure about this Winter?â, A man with a wild appearance asked with concern.
âYeah, if Tony needed all of us he wouldâve said so.â The young woman answered, truth be told she felt a little sick at the thought of doing battle with extraterrestrials. âLogan, you and Storm should go back and warn the Professor in case this goes south and they spread. Tell her to get me as close as possible to Stark tower.â
Logan nodded before moving back as the jet turned suddenly as it closed in on the battle. Winter popped an earpiece in and stepped forward towards the opening door. The chatter on the coms entered her ear as she studied the damage below. She heard voices she couldnât place, one asking for backup and she recognized Tonyâs voice when he replied.
âDonât worry Cap Winter is coming.â
âReally Tony?â Came a female voice, smooth like black velvet.
âIâm here and heading towards the tower.â,She spoke into the comm unit as the chatter momentarily ceased upon hearing her voice.
âHey Frosty, took you long enough. Keep the guy in green and gold busy.â Stark stated, before doing a quick fly by with a wave.
Winter removed her gloves, spotted a figure that matched Tonyâs description and jumped out of the jet without a word. She landed on her feet with a slight bounce to brace the impact before taking a step forward as the tall man whipped around to look at her. Her head tilted to the side a touch as she made note of his flared nostrils and blown pupils as he stepped forward towards her, with a flick of her wrist she created an icy patch that he slipped on.
âYouâre the big bad guy, huh. Whyâs it always the hot ones?â, Â Winter said with a smirk as she rushed forward, pulling a dagger from a thigh holster with the intent to end him quickly.
She closed in with a low strike against him and met his attack, her blade catching him behind the wrist, which she used to step forward and move behind him. Winter struck his face with the pommel of her dagger before bringing it up to stab him in the back. However, she was caught off guard when the man spun around and sunk his dagger into her shoulder. Gritting her teeth in pain she moved to attack again, this time from a higher position and once he moved to defend she switched to a lower attack at the last second and managed to slide between his legs using her dagger to leave a cut on his inner thigh. As he stumbles forward slightly she kicks him in the back causing him to fall forward, she scrambles up and attacks him again. This time landing in a straddle across his hips, her eyes narrow as he catches her hand that held the dagger. Hard, sharp green eyes met his icy blue as they struggled with the dagger, she tried to stab him while he did his best to push it away.
âYouâll die either way, no one survives touching my skin.â She spoke coldly, though his eyes held curiosity instead of the fear she was accustomed to.
Ice began to form on the point of the dagger and downward towards his chest, piercing his leathers slowly but it would be painful once it got to his flesh. Her eyes widened as his skin as well as hers began to turn blue, beginning where their hands touched and spreading quickly up her arm in an unnerving manner. Her eyes met his again, this time his also held a look of shock before he spoke.
âYouâre a frost giant?â His voice sent a shiver through her, and the grin he gave unsettled her.
âI..what are you doing to me?â Winter released her grip on the dagger she had held as she stood and moved back quickly, holding her hand out in front of herself as she watched the blue recede.
Looking up she was met with his predatory gaze as he took swift steps towards her, though she backed away, his arm was soon around her waist. Wide eyes looked up at him before widening even further as his lips were suddenly on hers, his hand moving to rest on the back of her neck followed by a warm feeling of absolute pleasure. Winterâs eyes fluttered closed while her lips opened with a gasp followed by a moan when the manâs tongue invaded her mouth. The warm feeling spread downward, pooling between her legs quickly followed by the feeling of standing on a cliff followed by a sudden burst of a sensation she couldnât name but it made her weak in the knees. She opened her eyes as he broke the kiss to meet her gaze.
âI am Loki of Asgard and you are mine.â The manic joy in his eyes did not last long as a flash of red tackled him suddenly.
âThor tell your brother to keep his hands off my little girl.â Tonyâs voice from the com barely registered in her ears as she put a hand to her shoulder that was a sticky red mess.
In a daze she made her way to the bar of the Stark Tower, blindly searching for something to use to treat her wound. Only managing to make it to sitting behind the counter, she panted as she struggled to focus enough to put a layer of ice over her wound as a temporary measure. Shattering glass and a loud roar drew her attention, her wide eyes flying to the mirror as she watched the man named Loki be attacked by a giant green monster. Fear flooded her veins at the sight and she remained frozen in place for several minutes after the big green guy had left. Once she felt mostly certain that the beast would not be returning she slowly made her way to the other side of the bar and leaned back against the counter as she took in the sight of Loki, who remained where the monster had left him on the floor. Winter was impressed that he was still alive despite the ordeal he had just endured, though she would not be aiding him in any manner.
Soon Tony and the rest of the Avengers showed up, quickly handling Loki before Tony approached her with a stern frown as his eyes rested on her wound. She quietly let him tend to the stab wound, occasionally shifting uncomfortably when one of his team mates would look at her curiously. Eventually the tall blonde man spoke, his arms crossed and his body language stiff.
âStark shouldnât she be going to a hospital for that?â
âNo Rogers, hospitals are a no go for Winter.â Tony said as he continued to work, soon finishing her bandage. âThere, that should stay put until youâre healed.â
âIs she some sort of criminal?â Rogers asked with an accusatory tone to which Tony responds with an eye roll and sigh.
Winter looked between Steve and Tony with a blank face before pulling her gloves out and putting them on.
âEveryone up for shawarma? I really am famished after that boss fight. Winter Iâll bring you a doggy bag, keep an eye on Loki.â Tony said, making finger guns at Winterâs annoyed expression as the group left.
A sigh of relief escaped her lips as she sat back on Tonyâs undamaged couch, relaxing as much as the pain in her shoulder would allow and Winter allowed her eyes to flutter closed. Minutes ticked by in silence as Loki sat quietly next to her, she ignored the intent stare he was giving her. The feel of breath and a nuzzle to her exposed neck caused her to open her eyes though it was annoyance rather than alarm that was reflected in them. In the pause, debating on her course of action it was Lokiâs hand on her thigh that caused her to thread a gloved hand in his hair and give a vicious tug. Teeth bared, followed by a sharp intake of breath and then a gleeful expression.
âDid I bother you darling?â Loki spoke with a teasing tone from his new place on the floor. âYou smell divine.â
âNow youâre just being creepy.â She replied with mild irritation laced in her tone. âDonât touch me again.â
The wicked grin he gave paired with his cuffed hands raised while he remained on the floor at her feet unnerved her though she didnât outwardly show it. As she regarded him, internally debating on stabbing him or not, footsteps caught the attention of them both and he was back on his feet in an instant.
Thor and Tony had returned, the latter of the two held a to go bag in his hands. Lokiâs gaze remained on her for as long as possible as his brother dragged him from the room though she was unaware of this as she eagerly looked in the bag that Tony had brought her.
âGet some rest, Iâll keep the SHIELD agents at bay just hide out in your room and Iâll let you know when they leave.â Stark says with a gentle pat on her back.
Winter gives him a nod followed up by a yawn before shuffling off to the room she had in the tower, finding it just as she had left it. She made quick work of the food before delicately laying down on her bed and planning to just take a short nap.
She woke to a sharp knock as well as sunlight flooding into the room and her face as Jarvis raised her curtains. Letting out a quiet hiss as she sat up just as Tony opened the door with some sort of happy phrase about gods and portals. Winter rubbed her eyes and slowly made her way out into the hall, continuing to follow Tony quietly. Soon she was outside with the Avengers watching Thor hold some sort of tube with a bright cube in it and waiting for Loki to grab onto the handle on the other side. The sun glinted off the glass of it and into her face, she squinted and shuffled forward slightly in an effort to get away from it. Suddenly she was grabbed, pressed against a solid masculine body and she heard a shout from Tony before being blinded by a blue light followed by the strange sensation of being pulled but floating at the same time.
Okay, so in order to get the Gauntlet thread going on time tomorrow (tentatively as real life may delay it a bit more) I need to accomplish a few threads before then. Â I'm not going to be around most of today, so that really only gives me tonight to thread them, and I know not everyone is in my timezone. Â So, to avoid confusion/holding up Sif and Thor any longer, I'm going to list the threads planned (which will be played out during, but backdated to take place before the Gauntlet thread) and how they are intended to go. Â Drastic changes are always possible in rp, but the gist of the threads should hold stead, so if you're listed here please let me know if it's okay to assume threads go as planned here while I write the Gauntlet thread, or if you have any details to add that I should include as having happened:
legendofmischief - Loki is going to strike some kind of deal with his alter self to gain some of his power/magics in order to escape Odin's sight.  Normally nothing gets past Dad, but the Lie-Smith is counting on the double dose of magic being confusing.
dirty-purple-suit - Loki has a favor to ask of Joker (though this can be played out in chat-play if you'd prefer with gifs, I know you've had a rough time lately, so no pressure.)
greenwitchwimble - Loki is going to take from Locret some of her magics/strength.  Now we can do this one of two ways--either a full on thread where he confronts her, or I can have him take from a distance in a one-shot you reply to?
onlytalia + sonofzod - Loki has a few things to discuss with Talia and Christopher (among them asking them to go to Asgard with him).
sigynthefaithful - posting the start of a chat for you here in a second, but it'll come down to 'you can't go with us to Asgard.'
