âMizuki!â Aymeric felt his heart sink like a rock as he looked up to see the small form of Alphinaud running towards them. Haurchefant was in the distance offering a sign of apology, Estinien beside him. âMizuki! Estinien has returned and has some things to share with us from his travels. We were heading straight to the Rising Stones, to discuss in council with the other Scions.âÂ
It was no secret that Alphinaud idolised Estinien during his time in the Holy See. Even if it were just details of his travels, Alphinaud would want to hear everything. Mizuki turned to Aymeric.
âWe shall talk later-â Aymeric smiled painfully, and Mizuki hugged him tightly before following a very excited Alphinaud. Aymericâs shoulders sank as he watched her leave. .Â
âHalone, why have you forsaken me?â he despaired. âAm I fated never to marry my beloved?â
âI am sorry. I did try-â Haurchefant sighed deeply, âBoy was slipperier than an eel.â
Estinien offered a snort of laughter âI thought youâd be better at this,â he teased and set off after the Scions.Â

Old fic ideas I found in my notes part 2, feat. My lecture notes drawings at the end because I remember exactly what class I was usually drawing these in.
(Part 1 - Naruto)
I feel like it's easy to tell what flavor of fics I was reading at the time lmao. Anyways, unlike part one this has a lot of fic notes and a few different drabbles, so it's a lot clearer what kind of overall fic I was thinking about.
----------
Title ideas:
- Removing (finding?) morpheus
- The seal of final peaceful sleep (lmao nah)
- Get this boy some therapy oh my gosh
-suboptimal bro hashi
-madara has the unfortunate realization that between him and Hashirama he might actually be the better big brother at some point in this and like. Big brother instincts go from 0 to 1000 Very Quickly.
-don't worry hashi gets better. later.
-make tobi on the younger side, idk canon ages or what the frick ages they are here but I'm making this very late teens to earlyish twenties and tobi is (was?) younger than izuna
-obv before madara goes missing nin, might turn into au later down the road and/or just completely ignore the whole Kaguya zetsu thing
-no alive izuna cry (but maybe??? If I go for au, but I feel like there will be more feelings btw madara and tobi and probs hashi w/o)
-might bring in touka and or hikaku not sure
-tobi's only student rn is kagami, whom is an uchiha orphan he basically secretly adopted as his own child a few years back tho he would insist he's Only A Sensei and Not That Important to kagami as he casually destroys someone who looked at kagami wrong before cooking him dinner and tucking him into the bed he gave kagami in tobi's own house. Kagami on the other hand would cheerfully agree that yes, tobi-sensei did in fact adopt him, isn't it great???
-They keep it on the downlow because tobi isn't super well liked and while kagami is all for snubbing the entire village populace, tobi wants the best for kagami and doesn't let himself be seen in public with him. (Invents henge for this????)
-plot: hashi+everyone basically in the village is wearing on tobi and he's super depressed and he was already emotionally stunted to begin with and sadly there is only so much support a small child can offer, no matter how happy he his and he carves an old failed experimantal seal on his chest that was meant to give terminal patients one last good dream before they go.
Obv it didn't work like that, and kagami finds him like that. (Idea it did work but when used on not dying peeps they actually had to want to come out and you couldn't force anyone out??) (Idea tobi put together info packets about all the stuff he does in the villiage which amounts to waaaaay too much and stuff he left for kagami in separate scrolls).
Kagami holds no love for anyone who makes his beloved tobi-sensei so sad and tired, but he acknowledges he's super out of depth and goes to hashi to ask for mito's help, but she's on a mission. They argue, mito comes back early, the beans are angerly spilled, and now they're off to help tobi and realize what an awful life he's got and how awful everyone is to him and just how bad his mental health is someone get this man some food and therapy please. The seal turns out to have been semi based on yamanaka techniques and they're brought in (basis for a treaty with other clans???).
They eventually get in his mind scape because part of the thing with the seal is that because he carved it in his skin they can't just cancel it out, he has to WANT to come out WILLINGLY. They find that tobi's mental health sucks and how awful a big bro hashi has been and madara has his big bro epiphany and they see how everyone else treats him and how bad his childhood was and look he really needs therapy okay??????
So stuff happens they come out, either with him or they have to go in several times because my boi is complicated and there's a lot of stuff they need to unpack to actually get to him. Story ends with him waking up and tearful hugs all round, maybe an epilogue time skip where he's doing a lot better.
-kagami is there the entire time being a snarky little brat to everyone but tobi, to whom he is the goodest of all good boys, whether or not he's actually conscious to hear it
-kagami wanted pictures with tobi so the man legit invented a camera that has a remote start and possibly a selfie stick and look he loves his student that's basically his adopted child. Tobi's room has a ton of their pictures, in which a not insignificant portion of them he is smiling in
-tobi basically answers every question kagami has, and if he's not doing that he's either helping kagami find the answer himself to teach him or he's telling him why exactly he can't tell him. In other words kagami knows almost everything and Will Not Take No For An Answer hokage-sama, I have over twenty years of second hand blackmail on you don't test me.
-kagami legit awakened his sharingan and skipped straight to mangekyo when he found tobi like that out of sheer rage because he KNEW tobi was sad and tired and needed therapy and he was WORKING ON IT and the ONE WEEK he had to leave for a mission everyone somehow messed up SO BAD he did THIS and now kagami knows True Rage. He Can And Will Change The World for tobi-sensei, he has kotoamatsukami, dont test him
-kagami is coded in to be given admin privileges in tobi's wards around his house in the case tobi is unable to do the admining himself meaning he has absolute control and will not hesitate to fry the next person to say a bad word about his tobi-sensei and he makes sure that all two kage level shinobi and one actual literal hokage knows it
-look kagami is maybe slightly a little possessive and overprotective of tobi-sensei but in all fairness tobi is the exact same but in a parental-adult way so it's mutually beneficial and tobi desperately needs someone to be so over him anyways, might as well be kagami
----------
Kagami bounced up the well worn trail to his Sensei's rather isolated house-lab. Finally, after a week long mission, he was back!! He couldn't wait to see Tobi-sensei. He bet he'd be SO proud of him, he was super awesome and amazing and didn't let any hard feelings get in the way of working with his teammates! (Of course, the moment they say anything bad about Tobi-sensei all bets were off, but that is an entirely different matter that doesn't apply right now since they didn't so he didn't.)
(Thinks about finally telling tobi he sees him as a father, then finds him as such)
As he looked in horror (ragerageRAGE) at his Sensei, his beloved Sensei who was always so sad but strong but also so so tired (HOW COULD THEY), with a seal carved into his skin in his Sensei's own handwriting (THEY TOOK HIM FROM ME THEY HURT HIM BROKE HIM) the scalpel still in his limp hand, he felt a piercingscreamingAGONIZING pain in his eyes. He choked back a shriek, his hands rushing up to clutch his head as he doubled over in pain.
His hitai-ate clanked to the ground, cast in shadows, vaguely reflecting something red. From him?
Kagami looked deeper into his hitai-ate, leaning over to see more clearly into the polished metal, his eyesight slightly foggy but oh so clear as he breathed raggedly through the pain and the tears.
The sharingan. He awakened his sharingan. (How terrible, that he got it not in a battlefield, but in his father's Sensei's house.)
But it was different. It didn't have the black, spinning tomoe he knew so well from so many clansmen.
In his redredred eyes, he had instead three black lines that connected in a circle around his pupil.
Mangekyo sharingan.
The legendary final form of the sharingan.
How fitting that in this moment, instead of simply activating his sharingan, he skipped straight to mangekyo out of sheer rage.
(He remembered, years ago, before he knew how badly everyone had hurt his Sensei, he had looked in the clan archives, looking at everything about the sharinagan, hoping maybe one day in this amazing awfulcursedsad villiage he would have a gift like that to help protect everyone.)
(Somehow, without anyone telling him, some little part of his brain knows exactly what his eyes can do.)
(He knows what this oneâthis mankekyo sharinganâis called.)
(Kotoamatsukami.)
(The ability to cast an unbreakable genjutsu so strong the target fully believed it to be part of their experiences. The ability to make anyone believe anything. Mind control.)
(He could use that.)
Kagami took a shuddering breath, clumsily grabbing the forehead protector that had fallen off just moments ago. Shakily tying it around his forehead again, not bothering to swipe his fringe out of the way, he steadied himself. This... Tobi-sensei taught him a lot, and he was pretty decent at seals, but nowhere near good enough to even begin to figure out where to go from here.
This meant he needed help. From an actual seal master.
The only seal master he knew of was Mito-sama.
A not-insignificant part of Kagami recoiled at the thought of going to any of them (Hashirama-Mito-Madara) for help, with the way his beloved teacher was treated by everyone and especially them, but... There was no choice, was there? There was no one else. Kagami couldn't help him, and if getting someone else to do so meant swallowing his pride and trepidation, he would do it, no matter how much his chakra churned and boiled about it (no matter how much his eyes burned with that horrible scene gouged deep in his memory forever and ever never to leave and how the world seemed to slow and how he knew that if he had to he would raze the world down and change people and tear their minds apart and Tobi-sensei, I think I understand why you said getting the sharingan wasn't always goodâ)
For Tobi-sensei, Kagami would do anything.
Even get help from the people that probably pushed him to this.
Kagami cursed. This sucks.
----------
Just keep quiet, Kagami told himself. No need to burn any bridges until after they figured out the seal on Tobi-sensei. Keep the peace.
"I'm glad you had the good sense to get help, Kagami-kun! I'm sure it was very scary, but we're gonna fix it, okay? My silly little brother, always making some kind of trouble with his experiments."
Kagami's eyes burned.
Screw "keeping the peace". Screw "not burning bridges"! How could he say things like that, when Tobi-sensei suffered so much because of him and everyone else in this stupid village? When what happened to him was probably directly caused by something the oh-so-venerable Hokage-sama said or did? (Or by what he didn't, his poor sensei is so very lonely, why oh why can't anyone see how incredibly kind he is, that he's not just a machine of warâ)
He stopped in his tracks, his body trembling from the sheer rage he felt at the audacity of this manâ!
"Let me get one thing straight." He could feel his chakra boiling, rising, churning around him in an ominous aura of hurtragesadnesswhywhyWHYâ "I don't actually trust any of you to have Tobi-sensei's best interests, nor his well being at heart." ("To be underestimated is good, Kagami-kun, but there are times when one must clearly communicate what they need to say. Sometimes that is far more effective than any jutsu I could teach youâ") "I only came to you because I refuse to lose him here and now."
Kagami turned to them, his mangekyo flaring, turning, burning in his eyesâ "If any of you hurt him in any way, I won't hesitate to take extreme measures. I'd change the world for Tobi-sensei."
----------
Madara sucked in a breath, shocked. "Mangekyo."
"Kagami, how did youâ when did you even get that? When did you awaken your sharingan?!"
Madara wracked his mind, trying to think of anything that could have possibly happened to Kagami to have done this.
Kagami looked at him, his mien far too solemn for a child who should be growing up in peace now.
"I was on a mission, y'know? And everything went great. My teammates are nice enough, our team Sensei is okay, even if Tobi-sensei is better. Everything was fine. And I came straight here after we got back. I wanted to talk to Tobi-sensei about... Things. I had something important to tell him. And it couldn't wait, and I was so happy. But when I got here. I found him. And I got so mad." Kagami looked at him, trembling, his eyes a burning red, angrysadafraid tears welling up. "I'm still so, so mad. He was doing okay when I left. He was just fine. And then I got back. And this happened. Next thing you know, I've skipped straight to mangekyo"
Was going through old notes today, and found this buried way back from 2022. I actually still quite like this, even if I have no idea where it would go from here, or what the background was supposed to be, when exactly it is placed beyond the general time period, or if I just had A Moment and transcribed it in a haze and forgot about it immediately.
I'll probably post this drabble on AO3 as later.
Enjoy!
-------
As it always did, it was as if either the most random or the most specific events triggered it.
A pulse ran through his head, and in its wake an all too familiar stars all around the moon screaming the earth crying pressure echoing through his senses, words feathering softly through hearing that wasn't hearing. Rather than following through his attack, Tobirama jumped back, a strangled cry in his throat.
"Anija!" He cried sobbed screamed wailed called his brother, panic welling through him. Not now. Not now not now not now!!
Why now, he asked.
Time calls, little sensor. You know better than most the world waits for no one.
Hashirama flickered to him, his eyes blown wide. Tobirama the little sensor he who hears the world fell against him, hands gripping desperately to his back, searching for a stability he did not have.
"Who is to hear your whispers today, little brother?" Hashirama breathed an anxious gasp a dread sigh a resigned tone.
Tobirama whimpered. He didn't want to! He hated this, he hated the whispers, they terrified him, he wanted them to stop, he didn't want to speak and know everything and nothingâ
Hashirama hushed him, his wood release flaring wildly around him, providing some semblance of cover safety home protection. "I know little brother. But you know what happens when you hold it in." Tobirama did. He remembered the first and last time he tried to stop. "You were bedridden for three months, Tobirama. Please, tell me. Who are your whispers for?"
With one last shudder, Tobirama breathed, paying heed to the cacophony only he could hear. "...you, Anija. You and Madara."
Tobirama's sun tree rock home family anchor Asura Asura ASURA brother tensed, his arms tightening around him. His eyes pinched shut, the furrow in his brows so similar to the one people often saw in Tobirama. Finally, after a tense few seconds, he relaxed. "Very well," Hashirama exhaled into the top of Tobirama's head, resigned to this fate. "So it will be."
--------
The whispers had never boded well in Tobirama's life.
When they first surrounded him as a child, he told their mother of spider lilies dripping down like water and ashes like soft snow.
The next day, she was found dead, her eyes crying trails of bloody tears, a decimated forest surrounding her immediate area, burned to the ground.
It never got better from there.
-------
Tobirama held his head, practically sobbing as he spoke, as if words were forcing their way out of his mouth, tongue twisting to form sounds foreign to him.
"A shadow! A weed! A child of the moon, that which splits in half, seeks to whisper poison, rotting flesh, leading us to the slaughter! He who tore apart Indra and Asura, who time and time again seeks to tear the mending rift apart, comes, to spread his incidious roots all over the great tree! It would seek to trick you, trick the souls of its kin! You, whose souls are of the two it tore apart the first time, the brothers the ancestors the PROGENITORS, schemed against again and again and AGAINââ
The dragon caught wind of her presence, landing close to the eastern mountains and finally giving NergĂźi a moment to catch her breath. It blew smoke at her as a warning but still she approached, enamoured by the grand being. The dragon opened its jaws to reveal razor sharp teeth and let out a bellowing roar which shook NergĂźi to her core yet it only served to spark the smouldering kindling in her heart. The dragon reared up and unleashed a torrent of fire towards her.Â
Unable to run, NergĂźi closed her eyes and threw her arms up in defence, and as she did a hidden power rose from within her. She heard the raging fire around her and felt the unbearable heat but as the flames quelled, she gingerly opened her eyes. She was unhurt, though her hands were smeared in soot and burns, as were her clothes. She looked up at the dragon whose sun-like eyes stared down into hers and something inside her told her she was permitted to approach. Slowly she stumbled forward and raised a hand to rest on the end of the dragonâs snout. Its scales were similar to her own, still warm from the flame. Not a word passed between them: they just stood accepting each other's presence. Then stepping backwards, the dragon removed a scale with its huge claws and left it on the ground for her to take before it leapt into the skies.Â
NergĂźi watched in awe as it roared and disappeared into the mountains, then crouched down to retrieve the fallen scale. She looked back to the skies, her heart alight with a new-found passion. Some called dragons the first mages of the realm â and she too would walk the path of a mage.Â
A voice behind her brought her out of her thoughts and turning slowly, she looked down at the tall Au-ra and the small boy with golden eyes. They stared up at her in bewilderment as she stood, soot covered, her eyes gleaming in excitement. A shocked realisation ran through her. I was seen..Oh no!
Clutching the dragon scale in her tiny hand, she ran back towards the mountains to the north. It was long after dark by the time she arrived, pocketing the scale and finding the robes she had hidden in a crevice in the mountain's walls. She spoke joyfully of her new-found dreams -- but they were not well received by her parents. The scolding she received that day would haunt her memories for years to come.Â
This is Noct, the time is currently 2:27 and I have been up reviewing my old writings. I figured it couldnât hurt to share them here.
Time stamped senior year of high school.
Me and Max went hiking today to get some photos for our class, it was pretty fun but nothing I really felt drawn too. I guess thatâs a feeling in itself but whatever. Regardless we got our rolls of film done and ended up sitting down near the big ass body of water probably a lake or something idc. It was fun, I walked out over a fallen long and sat for a bit, it was melancholic. All my friends seem to have plans. Itâs all so simple for everyone they all function so easily in environments I feel foreign in.
Eventually Max wanted to leave so I guess thatâs was the end of todayâs big plan. Not looking forward to the daunting passage of time where we might not hang out again.

There was a deafening silence before the crowd broke out into loud cheers. The duel had been won so quickly that CamĂŠlia had barely any time to react. Anticlimactic, yet satisfying to see her master bested so easily. That woman who used to tower over her, the cold judgemental stare, the sharp unfeeling tones -- and now she was on her knees, her perfect hair out of place and her precious nouliths nothing but shrapnel. Despite her victory, Mizuki couldnât help but hear the whisper in the back of her mind: did she do the right thing?Â
She walked as confidently as her legs would allow, trying to hide her pain. Stopping before CamĂŠlia, she held out her hand. âWill you acknowledge me now?â
CamĂŠlia slapped her hand away. âHow dare you humiliate me in front of all these people! After all I have done for you.â She stormed off, her apprentices on her heels.Â
Her shoulders slumping, Mizuki turned around and started back to her wheelchair. Every step sent sharp pains up her legs: that spell had been a lot for her to muster especially with her injuries. The cheers of her classmates slowly faded into the background as her legs buckled beneath her, but the ground never came. Instead a pair of strong arms saved her, lowering her to the ground. âBe careful, my light-â
âBrother!â she cried, and Itzal jumped, had she seen him? No, impossible. He saw her run up to the elezen with silver hair and hug him carefully. âShould you be up? Your wounds-â
âPlease, they are fine.â The elezen smiled back, then swapped to a frown. âYou and I received the same wounds and you ran off to fight an eikon -- it's you who should be resting.âÂ
Itzal felt his heart sink, what was he expecting? She had a family. Why did she need this one? He remembered her patting his head when he was younger with a smile, âItâs my job to keep everyone safe.â
Then why? Why did she leave?Â
She laughed and tapped her chest proudly. ââTis my duty and-â her shoulders slumped â-I should have been stronger and then you would never have sustained such wounds...âÂ
The older elezen stepped forward and rested a hand on her shoulder. âIf you had done nothing I doubt Haurchefant would have survived. You both are in need of rest.âÂ
âYes, father.â The beaming smile she gave this man stirred Itzalâs heart and he clenched his fists -- he had travelled all across the realm trying to find his sister and now here she was trying to be a part of some false family.Â
Lies and deceit. His anger took over, and throwing his cloak to the ground he lunged from his hiding place with his blades drawn. She left us..she was our protector..Â
He recalled his fatherâs words before he left âShe did not care for her family and thus she betrayed us. Casting us aside for her own selfishness which cursed us.â
Itzal reached for his daggers. He would teach her a lesson. Remind her where she belonged.
