It’s always after Gumball is done with his princely duties, cause when Marshall gets like that, being “an annoyance” really gets to his head

Gumball just smiles at him and holds him close as Marshall tries to hold him closer as his crying worsens.

Sometimes the sadness comes in waves, sometimes it’s just crying waling screams, sometimes Marshall shouts and screams all his feelings out, sometimes it’s just wet whimpering for hours on end.

Other times it’s just silence, defining non verbal silence for hours.

And on rare occasions it’s a scary mix of all of them.

But Gumball knows what to do in these situations, giving Marshall hugs usually helps, but GB knows when to touch, where to touch, how to touch, he knows his boyfriend and his boundaries, 

and if he crosses a line, he respects his boyfriend and only does what he wants

Marshall likes to wear soft things when he gets like this, specifically Gumball’s soft things in times like these, so Gumball has a specific XL hoodie always ready and clean for Marshall, along with some soft sweat pants.

Peppermint maid even knows exactly what to bring the boys when she goes to check on the prince and sees the vampire cradled in the candy princes arms, every single strawberry thing in the kitchen with milk to wash it all down.

I feel like Lee would sing it to be a little shit to his man but if they were to seriously sing, they’d do a duet and just be gay as usual
