Study Log Day 7 - April 10, 2021 | 0:00 AM
Study Log Day 8 - April 11, 2021 | 10:55 AM
Yesterday was a total no-study day for me, with the exception of listening to some Divine Intervention podcasts on my way to the hospital. On the flip side, it was a pretty good shift. I'm slowly increasing my 'patient load,' in the sense of the 'amount of patients I can concurrently handle while assuring appropriately speedy care for each.'
Today is gonna be a good day. Here are the things I plan to achieve -- I'll update you tonight when I've done them ALL.
Amboss: 40 Qs + some extra if I've got time
Ethics: chapter in SU2CK, chapter in Step 2 Secrets
Activate Lecturio, check out which videos I want to watch (weak topics)
Derm: read 5 pages
send follow-up emails to docs post-presentation
answer collab emails
new post on IG (if I can swing it with this gloomy weather)
These pics are from 3 days ago. All I end up taking pictures of lately is my laptop screen with lecturio on it 😅 so...
Today I reviewed forensics anki cards and continued reviewing histology on lecturio. Had girls night at a friends house and now I’m ready to crash 💤
Happy studying everyone; keep pushing through, you’re doing great ☀️
so this week is digestive week...
plan:
lecturio - GI embryo, GI anatomy
last anatomy
Netters Anatomy Atlas
oooou and pro tip: netters anatomy atlas has awesome cadaver videos for people that cant go to the anatomy lab (like me... sadly!).
I hope you all have a great week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fresh MS2 checking in
Most Taiwanese medical students rely on the conote system to pass exams and in some cases even use these notes for TWMLE prep.
But we don’t have those bc we’re the charter class and there’s nothing for us to refer to. Even the profs are new. So now I’m using a combination of Lecturio, Anki, USMLE and TWMLE books, in addition to attending lectures religiously. I’m thinking about getting notes from other schools and adding them to my study routine...
One week in and I’m already going to bed at ungodly times (I have other commitments too-being President of the med student association and doing clinical research in addition to academics). Our school is not pass/fail, so every point counts esp since I want to apply for IM residency at the best medical center in Taiwan.
I’m either going to become so good at this medical school thing or get too stressed and fail spectacularly. IDK which. We shall see in five years.

Lecturio: Worth It?
Since I’m starting my MD at a brand-new medical school this fall, I’m kind of worried about the faculty being as inexperienced as we are. So I’m looking into resources to help supplement what will be taught in class.
I came across Lecturio (thanks to the ads that bombard every single YouTube video) and am now trying it out. It looks promising, but I don’t know how well it works in the long run. Any medblrs out there who use Lecturio? What do you think? Does it help?

I’m really buckling down this week. I just finished the brainstem Lecturio playlist
