About Chao's gifts

Yes! In the Ending 3 branch, he gives MC the phone charm after lunch due to their strange behavior. I imagine it's something he has already prepared in his bag, for cases when he catches MC acting strangely like that.

That's also why he asked MC to put it on their phone on the spot in that scene, but not in Ending 2.

I’m glad you like that video!  I want to continue B&B someday but 1) I need to finish watching Voltron first (I haven’t seen the last two seasons for myself even though I have a general idea of what happens) so I can make any adjustments necessary to my story, and 2) I’m trying to figure out how much free time I’ll have in the future once I start school again.

Now a silly question! I was thinking about a scenario where the mc was sick (with a cold and sore throat) what would Chao do?

I don't know if it changes anything whether they live together or not, but I imagined something like Chao making some medicinal/herbal tea for the mc, and they’re practicing in murmurs how to thank him because their voice was hoarse, and that mc had a somewhat sad face, ‘cause of course they was sick, and that when Chao returned with the tea, he asked them a little worried about the face, so that MC would just answer while taking the tea “I was just thinking about how much I love/adore you, taking the time to do this for me… thank you :')"

What would Chao do when MC is sick?

You're right; he'd make some herbal tea for MC! Knowing that MC was worrying about how to thank him would make his heart melt. He'd swoop in for a peck on the cheek, despite any protests ˊᵕˋ

Ohhh, pretty!! While MC probably can't be "fully alt" at the funeral home, Chao would still think that it's really fitting with MC's job as an embalmer/mortician. Reminiscent of how they are often portrayed with goth aesthetics in media.

Chao's backstory is something I'm still keeping for now, but I can definitely explain a little about how he became like that!

Why is Chao interested in those things?

He became invested in botany first, then toxicology. While botanical preservation started as a regular interest, it eventually became a subconscious outlet for things such as fear of being forgotten or not understood.

Toxicology is a gateway from plants and stationary chemicals to other living beings such as animals and people.

As for medplay, it's the manifestation of Chao's psychological wants in sexual desire. There is the obvious fantasy of knowing MC's body in perverse ways, then dominance and dependency.

I don't know how to describe it, but the development of his interests isn't as linear as it seems! There is a lot of overlap.

Why did Chao start working for her?

I have some questions regarding the dynamics they would have considering my MC, well... Let's say he isn't on the good neighbor side hehe

Am obviously going full on "Know Me" ending for this, my MC would not only fully accept Chao but would also be a little too eager to know more, specially about things that can he ( my MC ) in jail. He do have deeply hidden desires ( let's say he do LOVE to watch the light leaving something while they die) he always completely ignored and is dead scared about them coming to light. So he would try to pretend not too be too interested, and am 100% sure Chao would pickup right away cause nothing can escape him.

So my question is, how would Chao reacts to a MC with a dark side?

Would he enable them himself so try to stop them?

What would he say if the MC is very interested in the idea of applying their knowledge of preservation in a human subject?

My last request, please bless me with any piece of knowledge about this man's mind, something you wish people ask so you can ramble about it.

How would Chao react to an MC with a dark side?

It would turn into a very enabling and self-destructive (🤤) relationship for the two of them.

For example, perhaps an MC like yours would push him to be more violent and lean more into hitman jobs than simply stalking or handling goods. A body, if taken in, can also be used by the MC to tutor Chao on embalming.

However, Chao has never been a senseless killer. If somehow, after Ending 4 MC shows alarming homicidal ideation, Chao would realize and attempt to rein them in.

I don't think this is possible considering Chao's character, but hypothetically, if ChaoMC somehow manages to develop a genuinely senseless moral descent together (ex: killing people for pure fun and laughs). Whether it takes months or years, the mental burden itself will destroy Chao or the relationship. Whichever loses footing first.

Any random piece of knowledge about Chao's mind

I suppose it's Chao's relationship with his looks and attention from others!

He's introverted, confident, and not really a flashy person. But there are many things that may garner attention for him, such as his clothing and choice of transportation.

(Don't take into account his unnatural hair color and eyes LOL)

This contradiction is just part of how he's okay with a little bit of attention as long as he gets to express himself. Ultimately, though, he'd rather not stand out too much. Also would not want to be interviewed on the street by a fashion influencer.

Chao's not the type to worry too much about what other people think, but his preferred method of charming is appearing extra harmless and polite.
