and if they do how would they react to someone who makes it obvioussss they wanna kiss
like a softened demeanor, hooded eyes, the works yknow? and of course we'd want more than one!
have a good day/night
I deny you guys kisses for a few chapters and it comes to this /j
But yes, all of them minus Error love kissing/nuzzling.
Killer kisses you the most, and will shower you in them first thing in the morning. (He also will nuzzle everyone on the team when he can).
When he can tell you want a kiss, heâll playfully flirt with you and stall for a bit before finally kissing you. But donât expect him to be satisfied with just a peck.
Horror is the best at reading expressions. He can tell what you want, and he ainât one to deny you it.
His favourite place to kiss is in the gardens, with you curled up on his chest. Long, lazy kisses that turn into you falling asleep in his embrace. Itâs too adorable.
Dust only likes to fully kiss when no one (minus Horror) is looking. Private nuzzles before missions or in the early hours of the morning are his favourite. He probably wouldn't understand human body language at first. Horror never dances around the fact that he wants attentionâhe just goes for it. But he likes it... the softness.
He also likes watching you and Horror kiss⌠or all kissing at onceâŚ
Cross loves kissing but also always gets flustered by it even years into your marriage. Making it obvious you want to kiss rather than just going for it is a surefire method to mess with him. He doesn't want to come across as impatient or too demanding, so whenever you do this, he always waits for you to commit to the kiss before reciprocating, even if he can hardly stand the suspense.
He is absolutely the type to ask for kisses like he's in an old romance novel, but with nuzzles he's much more casual.
Nightmare is also the type to occasionally ask for kisses all novel-style, but with his empathy ability he always knows when you want one, sometimes even before you've fully registered it. Chances are, you're already being kissed before you can even make hooded eyes at him.

Could we hear more about Killer and Dustâs relationship? I know Killer gets on his nerves and right now heâs pretty mad at Dust in story but Iâd like to hear more about them đ
Absolutely!!! While they do get on each other's nerves, and their relationship is bound to grow volatile once Dust learns about Reader's relationship with Killer, they do love each other and are actually quite close.
When Dust first joined Nightmare, he absolutely hated Killer, and the feeling was quickly reciprocated. The fact that Killer worked with the player while Dust sacrificed everything trying to stop them drives him mad. More than once he abandons a misson or disappears from the castle for days, swearing he's not coming back. He only does because of Horror.
Killer hated him because he thought he had a superiority complex. What right did Dust have to judge him, when his own LV was that high? When he's so haunted by his actions that he hears Papyrus whispering in his ear at night? Killer made the best of the shitty hand the creator's dealt him just as well as Dust had. It also didn't help that Dust blatantly went against his orders during missions, to the point where they would fight each other instead of whatever enemies they were facing.
Their relationship started to cool when they'd catch each other up at night, unable to fall asleep or dissociating in the living room. Killer would sit a cup of tea in front of Dust, because it's what Nightmare always did for him, while Dust would wrap a blanket around Killer's shoulders. Eventually, Dust started wiping the determination from Killer's face.
Horror and Nightmare began to subtly feed them information about each other, until they sought it out themselves and accepted the differences in how they handled their AU's genocides.
They are always rough-housing and getting into fights. Sometimes to solve arguments, but most often just for the fun of it. Itâs their weird love language.
When one of them is stuck in a LV rush, the other will engage in violent roughhousing with them until it passes. Then they'll bandage each other up, telling puns and shitty jokes.
Dust likes to test the limits of Killerâs rank above him. Killer doesnât have nearly the respect for Dust that he does for Horror and always makes his position understood
They are each otherâs favourite training buddies and constantly coming up with new attack patterns together. It helps that, with Horror working supply runs nowadays, they pair up in most missions. Their preferred offensive stylesâwith Killer being short range and Dust handling long range attacksâcomplement each other best, and it's a fact Nightmare plans around
They are competitive in all things, but enjoy playing video games with each other anyways.
They like to play through creepy horror games or binge watch horror films from time to time because a) theyâre the only ones who enjoy the genre and b) if either of them got so scared they lost control, they could keep each other in check. But that has only happened a handful of timesâŚ
Killer doesnât nap often, but he enjoys curling up next to Dust when the other is sound asleep. Seeing him napping in the sun out of pure enjoyment feels like reclaiming something. Dust enjoys having a comforting presence nearby.
Theyâll go on runs or climbing in the mountains of Nightmareâs realm together, though most often if theyâre out in the woods itâs following Horror around for foraging and fishing. Horror prefers Cross' company, because he doesn't eat half the supplies before they get home.
Killerâs lost a lot of his more âSansâ traits, but he still really loves the stars, and will sneak into Dustâs observatory to join him and hear him explain things about the universe. When they're laying on the observatory floor, staring up at the stars, Killer will gradually weave his limbs through Dust's while he's distracted rambling about constellations. They end up with their skulls pressed together and it would be too much of a hassle for Dust to bother unravelling himself from Killer. They stay like that, watching the stars until both of them drift off to sleep.
Hi me again lol. I was reading through some old asks and noticed u said dust and killer get paired up a lot due to horror being on supply runs. Out of curiosity, since dust is the smartest of the boys has he ever thought of taking a crack at fixing the core for horrortale? Say thats just not a feasible option, it seems like nightmares rich and would be able to buy horrotale food to last them *years*! Is there a reason he doesn't find a more permanent solution for horrotales food situation? Would solving horrortales famine tilt the world to much into dreams favor and put it at risk?
Horror would never have agreed to go with Nightmare if it left Snowdin, Toriel, and his brother in a bad place. So Nightmare made a deal with himâcome work for him, and Nightmare would move anyone he wished to an empty AU. One without humans to make things⌠simpler.
The rest of Horrortale has probably fallen to ruin by now, but Horror still frequently visits his brother and brings extra food for them. Because monsters have a long lifespan, most of the Snowdin residents that survived the famine are still around. But eventually it will just be Horrorâs brother, Toriel, and the Holiday sistersâŚ
if y/n wanted to have a kid how would the boys react and how would they take care of the kid? I feel like Cross would do it with her and would be happy to since he doesn't have high LV like the others, plus it would be cute to see a scenario with the boys raising a baby/child with the reader ^^
Took this as an opportunity to make one big post on what-ifs for pregnancy/babies/children
As mentioned briefly in this ask, the boys are not too concerned with having children, and half of them could not be bothered to care for a child (Error, Killer, and Dust). Getting them all on board with the idea would take years of discussions and planning for just about every aspect of having a kid.
Even then, Error wouldnât want direct involvement until the child was old enough to understand and respect boundaries, and Killer would be far more focused on your health, only getting interested once he realizes all the âexcitingâ things he can teach them (knives and robbery). Dust would get on board with most bad decisions regarding their education, and might grow to enjoy their company once theyâre old enough to go stargazing and hold a conversation.
Cross, Horror, and Nightmare would be more on board with the colossal task of actually raising a child, though theyâd all have things to work through considering their pasts, and in Nightmare and Crossâ cases, complicated family relationships.
During pregnancy:
You are well taken care of by all of the boys. Monster pregnancies are formed of magic, not matter. Even as a human, you would experience far less of the typical physical symptoms; instead, you would primarily be fatigued due to the constant drain of your magic. Magic from both parents is required for the pregnancy to be sustained; thus, you would nearly always need at least one of the others in the room with you. Whether theyâre the biological father matters littleâyour soul knows they are all your husbands, and would take magic from any of them.
Horror is the most fussy, taking âeating for twoâ to a literal degree. A good thing, as you would be absolutely ravenous. While human bodies process matter into different matter, monsters turn matter into raw magic. So long as youâre pregnant with a half-monster child, most of what you eat would be turned into magic for the growing soul. You need twice as much, if not more, food just to get enough nutrients.
When heâs not cooking, Horrorâs obsessively setting up little cuddling areas around the castle, much to Nightmareâs chagrin. The living room is a maze of hanging blankets and piles of pillows, Nightmareâs bed is a chaotic pile of sheets snagged from each of their living chambers, and several of the garden gazebos have been converted into comfy picnic spots. Everyone spends time laying around in them, though you most often end up laying on top of Horror, one of his arms curled protectively around your stomach, while he nuzzles your hair and tries to impart whatever small piece of his magic he can to you.
Cross has to be actively restrained to get him to rest. On top of his usual training and missions, heâs organizing each room of the castle, looking for anything that could endanger a baby and reporting it to Nightmare.
Heâs trying to assign everyone on the team roles for when the baby arrives and needs cared for, and what supplies they need to buy in advance (Killer quickly puts him in his place, however. Ordering everyone around is NOT Crossâ job). He bakes you fresh bread and cakes, and insists on running you baths, brushing your hair and massaging your swollen ankles.
Cross brings home little trinkets for you and the baby, takes you into the forest or down by the beach for hours relaxing in his arms, and spends weeks pouring over sketch ideas for painting the walls of the nursery.
Itâs not that he shouldnât be doing all thatâŚ. But Cross works himself to exhaustion, often collapsing in random parts of the castle. He just wants everything to go perfectly.
Insisting that you wonât rest until he does is the only way to get him to look after himself for longer than a day. It helps, at least, knowing that his presence is providing you with magic. That, even if you and Nightmare force him to sleep each night, heâs still helping you while he dreams.
Killer insists on being in charge of the preparations after seeing Cross attempt to. He was your first datemate and feels the most in tune with your needs. He can handle making lists of supplies to procure, dividing up parenting duties to make sure you get enough sleep, and make sure you're getting enough magic. It's just like planning a mission.
Killer spends a lot of time alongside you, keeping you entertained and active. Nightmare is anxious about you leaving the realm often, especially later in the pregnancy, so Killer finds fun activities to do in the outskirts of the realm instead. And really, a little trip to Outertale isn't THAT dangerous... he'd protect you. Nightmare won't even notice if you pop out for a bit (he definitely noticed).
Killer and Nightmare also build a crib togetherâKiller using his carpentry skills, and Nightmare his painting. When the child gets older, Killer helps to make more specialized furniture and decorate their chambers to their liking.
Dust will not leave you alone. At least Cross goes off to plan out the nursery or buy supplies. A few months into your pregnancy and Dust is practically your shadowâhe lingers at the edges of rooms, trails after you anytime you go into the gardens, and slips between trees when you go on morning runs with Killer and Cross.
Dust, having a surplus of magic, is a good candidate to spend a lot of time around. Plus, he's terrified of anything bad happening to you. It takes a lot of coaxing to convince him that he really doesn't need to hide that. They all see he's there. You know he's worried about you. It's okay.
Dust is the one to quietly comfort you whenever you have weird pregnancy symptoms. He's the one to take you to hidden parts of the castle so you can relax with a movie or some books for a few hours. You talk about everything you're excited for, or scared of with him.
Yes, he's overbearing at times... but Dust understand you, and loves you. He's a welcome break from the hectic nature of the castle and most of its residents.
Nightmare is the only one of the group who truly has the authority to tell the others to leave you alone together. He has the strongest magic, and it is thus most beneficial that you remain close to him often. Besides, there is much to discuss and plan... and much comfort he hopes to provide for you during this time. He is always in tune with your emotions, and appears whenever you experience significant distress.
He reads a lot of books about monster/human pregnancy, raising children, and being a good partner. He wants to ensure that you feel supported by him at all times, and that you realize how deeply his affections run. While he does contribute greatly to the nursery, he also indulges in several projects to fix up your room, and arranges several gifts just for you when the day finally comes.
You spend a lot of time alone in his private gardens, indulging in snacks or going for walks higher up into the mountains. Nightmare had long given up on having any sort of family before Killer came into his life. Gaining you as his Queen and now expanding that family... it is rather emotional for him.
Near the end, Nightmare invites Dream to stay at the castle. There's only so much removing negativity can do, and his calming aura may prove useful during the postpartum stage. So long as he behaves.
Dream absolutely freaks out over becoming an uncle.
Errorâs magic is too corrupted to conceive a child, nor can he provide the magic to keep growing one. Though the thought of a baby near him deeply unsettles Error, he is fond of you. When you need maternity clothes, heâs already created the softest outfits imaginable, comfortable and yet elegant enough that Nightmare tries to request more for you. When you need blankets, heâll practically drown you in them.
When the baby comes, youâre surprised to find that Error has already knitted little hats, clothes, and baby shoes. And that by the time you go to place your baby in the crib, itâs been lined with a new mattressâone thatâs firm, but has a soft surface, glittering with stars.
The one scenario everyone could probably get on board with is if you found a child in some AU and ended up adopting them. Killer would absolutely adore a Susie variant.
Out of curiosity, what would happen if reader did intentionally propose first? Could be funny if boys think it was a mistake or cute if not.
Though I also wonder- could one hypothetically make their partners more handmade jewlery/things after marriage or is it exclusively for engagement bc I love making ppl things including jewlery and if I could do that for someone I think I'd be. Mega sad tbh. Oh fuck now that I think about it would that mean I'd have to stop giving that sort of thing to friends? Maybe mobster marriage isn't worth it... /j
Follow up to this ask.
It would be.... very difficult to propose to the boys first. Primarily because of the ridiculous jealousy that would emerge over who you gave jewelry to first. You'd likely have to do some joint proposal towards all of them at once. It would end up being so overly formal they'd immediately realize you absolutely know what you're saying by giving them the handmade jewelry.
If you did just try to propose to one of them, and didn't explain you were proposing, they might assume it was a mistake; you must have forgot it's monster tradition to only give handmade jewelry to become engaged. They really can't accept this.
Nightmare, who wasn't really involved in monster culture, would likely forget the tradition , wear the jewerly around, and tell the others you made it for him, thus inciting weeks of quiet jealousy from everyone. Let's hope you made more jewerlry....
As for making more, monsters absolutely can make their partners more jewelry. For monogamous partners, it's common to make a jewerly set eventually, adding pieces for the official wedding and various important anniversaries or life events (ex. the birth of a child). You'd be able to make each of the boys plenty of jewlery, though the original gift would be the one they'd always try to wear.
The reverse would also be true, but the boys have to be careful not to encroach on each other (ex. Dust can't make you a necklace, since that's Killer's thing).
Handmade items that are not jewelry (ex. other clothing) are free to gift to anyone. But they might get the wrong idea if you tried giving your friends handmade jewelry....

hi! i really liked that one ask about handmade jewelry and the accidental proposals, and wanted to ask about how each of the boys would plan to propose themselves? as well as who would go first, would it be a group ceremony, or maybe separate, etc. would dust and horror plan to propose at the same time?
Monsters in poly relationships will often plan joint ceremoniesâand it's just about the only way you could get married without causing a huge fuss.
However, it takes the boys forever to figure that out. There comes a point when it's obvious they SHOULD propose to you. Many humans like to be joined in marriage after some time, and Dust is fully convinced you're his actual soulmate.... but everyone expects that Nightmare will initiate the planning. He is their sort-of King, and he likes fancy shit like this.
Problem is, Nightmare is under the impression that Killer will initiate the planning. He was your first lover, after all. It would be polite to allow him to propose to you first.
There's a weird back and forth where everyone keeps hinting to each other that they really should start taking some jewelry-making classes, pointing out really nice pieces they stumble on, and bringing home gems from especially rich AUs and insistently showing them to each other. Killer keeps setting Nightmare up on solo dates with you and teasing him, but Nightmare is too in his own head to get the hint.
Horror eventually can't stand it anymore and sits the others down for a meeting about it. They eventually settle on proposing individually, even though the ceremony will be joint, and agree on a set order and timeline (Crossâ idea) because they cannot spend another year dancing around each other.
Killer is decided on as the first to propose, and unfortunately that means he steals the most scenic and obvious location: Outertale. He finds a lake that reflects the stars, sets up a little picnic similar to your first date, and proposes in a rare nervous way. You end up spending the night asleep under the stars, and Nightmare has to come get you himself in the morning when you havenât returned.
He proposes with a necklace inlaid with purple sapphires and pink diamonds. It wasnât difficult for him to learn to makeâhe has some basic metalwork skills heâs picked up over the years, even if he prefers carving.
Nightmare takes you for a fancy dinner in a fantasy-themed AU, then brings you up to his private gardens to propose. He chose to make you a crown of black and violet diamonds, the base formed of silver twisted like branches, with small patterns for flowers representing each of the members of your family. He knows itâs impractical to wear all the time, but he doesnât mindâit will be perfect for special occasions.
Horror ends up going next, because Cross and Dust are both freaking out over their proposal jewelry. He chose to create something simpleâa ring that matches the bands he and Dust gave each other. He had a whole planâtake you out to a cute cafe, go walk along a pier with hot chocolatesâbut he ended up proposing in the courtyard when you got back. Itâs not that he was nervousâŚ. Itâs just that you were having so much fun he couldnât bare to interrupt you.
Cross follows, at Dustâs insistence. He made you a set of earringsâsmall enough that they wonât bother you in your day-to-day life, but inlaid with alternating patterns of shards of purple and pink gemstones.
If it werenât for his constant squirming and reaching into his pocket, you wouldnât suspect it was proposal day at first. Cross takes you into the Omega Timeline, and you spend a day having fun at the arcades, skating rink, and small amusement park before indulging yourself in a fancy meal. You go to a boutique and Cross buys you the fanciest dress you want before taking you out onto the lake in a boat to share the best desserts from Muffetâs. Itâs there that Cross proposes to you. Youâre almost worried that between both of your tears, youâll sink the boat.
Nightmare finds you come morning, passed out in each otherâs arms and gently drifting across the water. Core thought it was way too cute to wake you themself.
Dust is all ready to go and finally propose when Error shows up to the castle and yoinks you to gods knows where in the multiverse.
Error does not give a shit about Dustâs whining texts. Under no circumstances is he going LAST to propose to you. He already was last to date you, for creatorâs sake!! And Killer already stole the obvious best proposal spot!
âSo youâre proposing today?â you tease, because Error is terrible at keeping his thoughts to himself. The destroyer blue screens for a solid twenty minutes before coming too and nervously proposing to you in the anti-void. Itâs sweet and private, which is exactly how your relationship with Error is. You cuddle and watch tv for a few hours before Error takes you to the place he was actually planning to proposeâa fancy hotel in the original universe. You spend a couple of days there, and Error is shocked by all the random free gifts you get when you tell the staff you just got engaged.
He proposed with a bracelet woven from his magical strings, with small jewels snugly wrapped up in its threads. That way heâs always with youâeven if youâre busy with the others.
Dust finds himself last to propose. He made a bracelet as well, meant to go on your left wrist. It even has a little diamond-studded chain that can connect to Horrorâs ring when you want. The main bracelet is a soft rose gold, carved with patterns of the stars and inlaid with jewels in the shapes of lavender and lily-of-the-valley looped together.
Dust is also a really private person, so he takes you to an observatory in Outertale that Nightmare rents out for the evening. You watch a meteor shower and indulge yourself in platters of finger food. Later in the night, he shows you a pair of binary stars through the telescope before proposing to you.
Dust absolutely does not allow you to fall asleep in the observatory. No way is he being found by a bunch of strangers in the morning. Itâll be better to cuddle at home with Horror.
What do the boys smell like? Odd question,I know but I'm so very curious.. Do they smell like candles, a bonfire, Cologne, incense.... Or do they smell like BO and axe body spray....
Without sweat glands, one need not resort to axe body spray.
Therefore I'm using this as a chance to yap about the symbolism of magic scents. As magic is ultimately derived from the soul, the scent of your magic is heavily linked to your nature.
Killer smells primarily of Atropa Belladonna, a plant frequently associated with death. Though his magic has undercurrents of basil (associated with both love and death) and the smell of rain lingering in the air.
Dust's magic is an exact replica of himselfâsomeone who appears harmless, but is quite deadly. Water hemlock and lily of the valley are both poisonous, but have sweet earthy and lemony scents. There is also a little bit of dahlia, which has different symbolism depending on colourâblack for dishonesty, green for new beginnings... just as Dust has gotten since joining Nightmare.
Very, very deep under all that, he sometimes smells like hot chocolate and pine trees. Like the home he left behind so long ago.
Cross mostly smells of speedwells and baptisia, which are the perfect flowers for a soldier like himâsymbols of protection, fidelity, and loyalty. Under that is a delicate dusting of camellias... flowers of love and affection.
He also always smells like chocolates and brownies, though no one is sure if that comes from his magic or if it's because he's addicted to the stuff.
Horror's magic is very weak, so primarily he smells of herbs and soil from the garden. But when it does peak through? It's very pleasant. A mixture of jasmine (purity/love/friendship/and familial bonds), rue (regret, repentenance and protection), maple (loyalty/duty/resilience) and wind through wheat fields.
Nightmare smells primarily of apples, just like his brother. But his magic carries other scents as well. Queen of the night, a flower associated with royalty and with symbolism of mystery and fleeting beauty. Magnolia (perseverance, dignity/nobility, power and pride). Iris (power/wisdom). And, rarely, you can catch a hint of fern underneath... symbolzing protection and his affection for his newfound family.
Error is a mixture of conflicting scents: Foxglove (insincerity), wolfsbane (treachery/misanthropy), edelweiss (selflessness/altruism), and heather (solitude).
