About the queer ship everyone hoped to see in stranger things

Listen...I don't want to be mean or dismiss people's ships, but this is something I've been saying ever since people began shipping Byler:

"Byler is never EVER going to happen."

In what world two male mc of Netflix's biggest show would end up together over the straight main ship? Like, really. Yes, they had scenes together. Yes, at times way more than Mileven. But everyone kept reading way too much on Mike's character for a long time, expecting it to be brilliant writing from the screenwriters planning to build him as a closeted gay guy in denial over...like, no reason.

I understand we all have our impossible ships and like to headcanon about them (and I have nothing against it, I've been a dreamer many times in life. Still am.) but reduce a show's consistent bad writing to "oh... they're didn't make my impossible ship happen now I'm angry" is reducing a much bigger issue: the writing is lazy, redundant and calls the audience stupid, trusting the fans will be blind to the many flaws just out of being comfortable with the never changing narrative, and the fact is that we need to show our discomfort towards that disregard. To tell them we ain't stupid and deserve good written and well thought stories.

Being sad about your (headcanon) ship not happening is more than fine but it's a personal expectation not planted by the script (The only canon proof for it would be Will liking Mike) and the many screaming and shouting issues of this last season shouldn't be drowned by that.
